Hi again mbecker, you got infections there.

Download HijackThis to your desktop from here -> Link
Rename HijackThis.exe to Scanner.exe. Then create a new folder named HijackThis to your desktop. Move Scanner.exe into that folder.

Please download Qoofix by RubbeR DuckY from one of the following locations:

http://www.malwarebytes.org/Qoofix.zip or
http://www.besttechie.net/tools/Qoofix.zip
  1. Unzip all files to a convenient location such as C:\Qoofix.
  2. Go to the folder you unzipped all files and run Qoofix.exe.
  3. Click Begin Removal and wait for the scan to finish.
  4. If an infection has been found, select yes to restart your computer.

Finally post a new HijackThis (scanner.exe) log and the contents of the Qoofix logfile.

Hi again.

HijackThis was not renamed and it was in a temporary folder...

Lets try again:

Download HijackThis to your desktop from here -> Link
Rename HijackThis.exe to Scanner.exe. Then create a new folder named HijackThis to your desktop. Move Scanner.exe into that folder.

So now you should have a folder named HijackThis on your desktop and a file named Scanner.exe inside that folder.

Run a new scan with Scanner.exe and post its log to here.

Then we'll continue ;)

Hi again.

I noticed that you have ViewPoint software installed. This program hase a suspicious reputation and I strongly recommmend that we remove it.
I have marked these entries to my instructions with BLUE so if you really want to keep this program, skip the blue steps.

I can see some Symantec entries on your log. Are you using some Symantec/Norton program or are these just leftovers ?

You should print these instructions or save these to a text file. Follow these instructions carefully.

Now you have two files on the HijackThis folder. Please remove the HijackThis.exe file and leave only the Scanner.exe file to there.

Download and install ewido anti-spyware 4.0
  • Open ewido anti-spyware
  • Click on the Update icon at the top of the window
    • Click on the Start update button
    • Wait for the update to download and install
  • Quit the program, well use this later.
Download ATF Cleaner by Atribune to your desktop.
Do NOT run yet.

Then, make your hidden files visible:
  • Go to My Computer
  • Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options
  • Click the View tab.
  • Checkmark the "Display the contents of system folders"
  • Under the Hidden files and folders select "Show hidden files and folders"
  • Uncheck "Hide protected operating system files"
  • Click Apply and then the OK and close My Computer.
Disable SpywareDoctor's realtime protection. (it may interfere with the cleaning)
  • Open Spyware Doctor
  • Click the "OnGuard" button on the left side.
  • Uncheck "Activate OnGuard".
  • Exit the program.
Open Control Panel -> Add/Remove programs -> Remove all the of the following programs if found:

PartyPoker
ToolBar888

Viewpoint

Run HijackThis, click Do a system scan only, and check the box next to each of these entries if still present. Close all other windows and press Fix checked.
If something isn't there, please continue with the next entry in the list.

R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing

O3 - Toolbar: Viewpoint Toolbar - {F8AD5AA5-D966-4667-9DAF-2561D68B2012} - C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Viewpoint Toolbar\ViewBar.dll

O3 - Toolbar: ToolBar888 - {CBCC61FA-0221-4ccc-B409-CEE865CACA3A} - C:\Program Files\ToolBar888\MyToolBar.dll (file missing)

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ViewMgr] C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Viewpoint Manager\ViewMgr.exe

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [qokq] c:\stub_113_4_0_4_0newer.exe

O8 - Extra context menu item: &Viewpoint Search - res://C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Viewpoint Toolbar\ViewBar.dll/CXTSEARCH.HTML

O9 - Extra button: PartyPoker.com - {B7FE5D70-9AA2-40F1-9C6B-12A255F085E1} - C:\Program Files\PartyPoker\PartyPoker.exe (file missing)

Restart your computer to the safe mode:
  • Restart your computer
  • Start tapping the F8 key when the computer restarts.
  • When the start menu opens, choose Safe mode
  • Press Enter. The computer then begins to start in Safe mode.
Go to the My Computer and delete the following folders (if present):
C:\Program Files\Viewpoint
C:\Program Files\ToolBar888
C:\Program Files\PartyPoker

Go to the My Computer and delete the following files(if present):
C:\stub_113_4_0_4_0newer.exe

Run ATF Cleaner
  • Click Main, Select all, Empty selected.
  • If you use Firefox as your browser, click Firefox, Select all, Empty selected
  • If you use Opera as your browser, click Opera, Select all, Empty selected
Now scan your computer with Ewido.
  • Open Ewido
  • Click on the Scanner icon at the top of the window
    • Click on the Settings tab then select Recommended Options and choose Quarantine
    • Click on the Scan tab
      • Select Complete System Scan. Ewido will now begin to scan your system
  • When the scan has completed, if infections were found, press Apply all actions .
  • Then click on the Save Scan Report button and save the scan to your Desktop where it can be easily found
  • Copy and paste the scan results into your next post.

Restart your computer normally.

When you're ready, post the following logs to here:
- Ewido's report
- a fresh HijackThis log

Ok I did everything you asked, but when I would press apply all action after the ewido scan the program would freeze. I thought maybe it was working but i let it sit there for a couple hours and nothing happaned. Then i would close out of it using Taskmgr and try it again but it wouldn't open the file.

Here is my update HijackThis.
