Hi

Welcome to Malware Removal, I'm random/random and here to help you with your Hijack This log.

Please only use this topic for your replies on this problem. Do not start another thread.
The fixes we will use are specific to your problems and should only be used for this problem on this computer.
These things need to be properly researched and a complete fix for many malware problems can take some time and be spread over a number of posts, so please be patient and try to see it through to the end.

I am currently looking over your log and as I am an undergraduate at Malware Removal University, everything that I post to you must be checked by an expert. There may therefore be a slight delay between posts. I will post back as soon as I can.

Thanks,

You currently are running HijackThis from inside a zip folder

Please right click on the zip file, choose extract files and extract the to C:\HJT
detailed instructions can be found here
DO NOT follow the steps below until you have moved HijackThis
================================================================

The formatting of your HJT log makes it difficult to read

Please open Notepad, go to format and untick word wrap

Reveal Hidden Files
  1. Click Start.
  2. Open My Computer.
  3. SelectTools menu
  4. Click Folder Options.
  5. Select the View Tab.
  6. Select Show hidden files and foldersin the Hidden files and folders section.
  7. Uncheck Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
  8. Uncheck the Hide file extensions for known file types option.
  9. Click Yes.
  10. Click OK.

Please use task manager (ctrl+alt+del) to end the following processes

casrv.exe
msnat8b.exe

Next, go to Start->Run and type "Services.msc" (without quotes) then hit Ok

Scroll down and find the service called Boonty Games. When you find it, double-click on it. In the next window that opens, click the Stop button, then click on properties and under the General Tab, change the Startup Type to Disabled. Now hit Apply and then Ok and
then do the same for this service XXXCodec Service

Open hijackthis
Click on do as system scan only
Place a checkmark next to these lines(if still present)

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {77701e16-9bfe-4b63-a5b4-7bd156758a37} - (no file)
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ScanRegistry] C:\W
O23 - Service: Boonty Games - BOONTY - C:\Program Files\Common Files\BOONTY Shared\Service\Boonty.exe
O23 - Service: XXXCodec Service (XXXCodec Acceleration Service) - xxxcodec.com - C:\Program Files\XXXCodec\casrv.exe

Then close all windows except Hijackthis and click fix checked

Let's delete that service
- Start HijackThis...
- Click "Config" button
- Click "Misc Tools" button
- click "Delete an NT Service" button
- Copy and Paste the bold text below in the "Delete an NT Service" window

BOONTY

- Click "OK"

and do the same for this one

XXXCodec Acceleration Service

- Close HijackThis

Please print the instructions below.
Then reboot your computer
As soon as it starts to boot, rapidly press the f8 key.
select safe mode from the menu
If you are still unsure, see here

Delete the following folders using windows explorer

C:\Program Files\XXXCodec\
C:\Program Files\Common Files\BOONTY Shared\

And this file

C:\WINDOWS\system32\msnat8b.exe

Reboot to normal mode and post a new hijackthis log along with a description of any problems you may still have

Please download Ewido anti-malware it is a free version of the program.

  • When installing, under "Additional Options" uncheck..
    • Install background guard
    • Install scan via context menu
  • Launch ewido, there should be an icon on your desktop, double-click it.
  • The program will now open to the main screen.
  • When you run ewido for the first time, you will get a warning "Database could not be found!". Click OK. We will fix this in a moment.
  • You will need to update ewido to the latest definition files.
    • On the left hand side of the main screen click Update.
    • Then click on Start Update.
  • The update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed. The status bar at the bottom will display "Update successful"
  • Click on Scanner
  • Click on Complete System Scan and the scan will begin.
  • You will be prompted to clean the first infection.
  • Select "Perform action on all infections", then proceed.
  • Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located on the bottom of the screen named Save report
  • Click Save report.
  • Save the report .txt file to your desktop or a location where you can find it easily.

Post back with the ewido log, a new HJT log, and a description of the problems you still have
