I already have had my pc clean now via the help of the guys here on this site and already know about the p2p sharing thing with putting google redirect viruses on your pc. My question is if i were to get a song from youtube and use freedvdsoft or whatever that thing is, is that still p2p sharing and possible google redirect virus occuring?

I was going to do it from youtube via dvdsoft thing and transfer straight to my flashdrive? I was wondering if that way it will still be p2p sharing?

Accepting files from any public site is always risking the possibility of infection. You had a redirection issue that was taken care of... during that time you were told by an MRU Master, that using YouTube or P2P sites was dangerous.

The infection types you can "obtain" by public files is not restricted to a Google redirection infection... you could be infected with any variety of infections, some that can infect system files, causing the need for a reformat of your hard drive and a reinstall of your operating system. Some can be used to steal you personal information, accessing bank and credit card accounts. You never know what kind of infection you may pick up.

Again downloading files placed on these "social" sites by "strangers" is inviting becoming infected. You can ask a dozen different ways, use a dozen different methods but the chances remains the same. You do so at your own risk!!

Just to further clarify what you've already been told so you have no lingering doubts... THERE'S NO FREE LUNCH! You will pay for music, software, etc., one way or the other. You will either pay by purchasing the product, or you will pay by being besieged with adware, spyware, viruses, trojans and/or worms. There's just no getting around it. In other words, no matter how hard you search for some "free" method of obtaining something that is not intended for free distribution, it won't really be "free," you will pay... either with cash or with misery.

In addition, you should understand this site's policy regarding P2P filesharing, e.g., you have been assisted here in the removal of malware from your computer, and you have been amply warned about the dangers of filesharing. Should you choose to ignore these warnings, understand that when your computer is once again infected due to filesharing, which it certainly will be if you opt to proceed with such behavior, no further assistance will be provided by this site.

Man youtube is a mine field of viruses i would be very careful downloading from there, some of the legit music sharing sites are actually really cheap small monthly fees and your good for tons of music downloads and you don't have to worry about viruses.

Take a look at we7.com or last.fm. Both have free options to legally listen to streamed music. The paid version is very reasonable and lets you listen without hearing ads in between.

I want a way to be able to download, upload to an mp3 or ipod. Can you do that there and is it p2p sharing or not?

we7.com offer a premium service for 9.99 per month which allows you download offline content to your iphone or android device. The only other way to download mp3's legally and safely is to pay for it.

I haven't tried the premium service myself yet, perhaps you could ask them question via their contact us page.

This "poor guy," as you choose to regard him, received plenty of help with getting his computer clean and free of the malware infestations he got by using P2P filesharing for downloading music. In spite of that, and in spite of all the precautionary warnings he was given regarding the dangers of filesharing, he was still searching for some magical way to obtain clean downloads of music without paying for it.

We do not lie to people and tell them that something is safe when it's really unsafe, no matter how many times they ask the same question. We don't tell people what they want to hear, we tell them the truth.

If you choose to regard that as browbeating, that's your perception, not ours. :)

That is your first post on this board ?

I really do not know how you dare to say that this person has received no help?

He has already received substantial what I hasten to add is completley free help and advise on this thread of his

viewtopic.php?f=12&t=54349
Plus it appears he sought help on , then failed to respond to this thread , taking up valuable time for a Malware fighter who could have been working on another victim's thread
viewtopic.php?f=12&t=53487
But I guess you are not aware of the extensive time it takes to train to be a Malware Fighter then the time it takes to research all these logs to identify the infections, then write a Fix to help to clean that infection from the computer?

So....Please do not say or try to insinuate that this person has had no help; they have actually had ample help but still choose to ignore the advise they are given; also , if they continue their practice of P2P ,or attempts to obtain and download material other than from legal and approved methods , then , as stated above, they will not be helped by this board in the future as that is the Policy on this Board (and other specialist boards may also refuse to help too ):!:

I didn't reply after I got my answer because I was satisfied with the last answer that I got. FYI I have not downloaded a single p2p file since last ridding my pc of a google redirect virus and I have explored other avenues of getting music and I have a few things in mind.
