That's better.
The Volume Bitmap note is a known false signal, and can be ignored.
Your system should be running better.
Whenever this happens, though, you need to suspect that there may be something wrong with the hard drive.
Best to have file backups for important items, and make sure you have the ability to re-install Windows on a new drive.

You do need to try the Windows Update and see if it works properly.

I've backed up important files for the future. I'm going to bed right now, but sometime today I will reply with an update on the Windows Update. If you are not available to help due to the Holiday - I understand. Thank you for the help so far.

Just tried the update really quick before going to bed. I'm getting mixed messages here: It no longer says any important updates are available, and I'm pretty sure it installed, but under the status it's saying failed.

Let it run for a day or two, and let me know if you see any improper behavior.

Once again the update is showing back under important updates and failing to install. Also I'm still getting the Hard Drive popup. :\

If you are still getting the hard drive popup, it's time to start shopping for a new hard drive, or take it to a shop, while the old one is still somewhat alive.
