Hey, I've been having a problem with my computer and would really appreciate your guys' help and knowledge.
My computer is an HP DV7-1245dx, it has been running great with Windows 7 ever since I got it, but about a month ago I got a fake antivirus virus. I tried a crapload of stuff, but I just ended up reloading my operating system, knowing full well that I would probably get the virus again when I put all my documents back on the hard drive.
Well, it's not the same virus, but it's definitely a virus. It has slowed down significantly, and programs freeze a LOT more often. But, every once in a while, a windows security center message will pop out of my tray that says "Security Center Service Disabled, Click here to enable it." Every time I click it, it says it's unable to and the computer restarts. But if I don't click it, the computer still restarts. I'm out of options, I'm right in the middle of a semester, and I really need help. I definitely do have protection; I have spyware doctor with antivirus installed, and I do subscribe to it. I cannot run anything else, though, because the security center service pops up and the computer restarts.
Also, if you need me to do something, don't feel like you need to explain to me step by step. I know computers very, very well and if it's a simple thing like downloading and running something, or running something in safe mode, just tell me what to do. Thanks!

I see from your HJT log that you're using a 64 bit operating system.

Unfortunately, the tools we use to analyze and remove infections do not work properly on a 64 bit operating system, and their results cannot be relied upon. Because of this, it is almost impossible for us to correctly diagnose problems, and the fixes we might offer could potentially do as much damage to your computer as any infection you might have.

Due to the above stated reasons, we do not at this time offer support for 64 bit operating systems. We are sorry that we are currently unable to assist you.

This topic is now closed.
