antispy software

Unread postby cainey » October 11th, 2010, 6:33 pm

Hi,
having abit of trouble with something on my laptop. as soon as I log into windows vista i am greeted with a window acting as if it is scanning my computer. The software calls itself antispy software. I can get round it by going through task manager and cancelling it that way, but i want rid of it.

Scanned the computer with Malware Bytes and found one infected file. Deleted it and restarted the computer but its still there.

Tried using Hijack This but it says it cant have access to the hosts file? Getting to a point now where i have no clue what to do.

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Please familiarize yourself with the forum rules: >Forum Posting Rules - Please Read<

In order for us to help you it is necessary that you provide us with a HijackThis log. Please follow the guideline for your particular version of Windows at the link below and then start a new topic and post your HijackThis log by pasting it into your post. (If you follow the guideline's directions for your operating system, you should not get the Hosts file error). Do not utilize attachments.
