Links Redirected in All Browsers & on All Computers in House

Unread postby Speedsktr » August 30th, 2010, 4:37 pm

Description of Problem
-When clicking on links (not 100% of the time, but a very good amount of the time) on sites ranging from Google Search, to Hulu or other such things, a new window opens and my computer is redirected to "jsc.google-analytics.com". Sometimes this window comes up blank, other times it displays a webpage totally unrelated to anything I was clicking on. This has spread to all the computers currently in my house. About a month or two ago when it happened, I tried to fix it by resetting my routers settings and changing the passwords and keys etc. plus running Malwarebytes on the main of the computers in the house and they all came up clean and free of viruses. (Mine a Windows Vista Desktop, and my fathers a Windows 7 Laptop). My solution worked for a few weeks, but about a week ago it started happening again so it became beyond my abilities.

Hi speedsktr,
See whether these modifications help:
-----------------------------------------------
Internet Explorer
Instructions on blocking Google-analytics using Internet Explorer are here:
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/ie/archive/2010 ... -them.aspx
-----------------------------------------------
Firefox
To block these and other annoying scripts in Firefox, proceed as follows:
Start Firefox.
Click Tools in the Menu bar. If you don't see the menu bar, click an Alt key.
Click Get Add-Ons. In the search box, type "AdBlock Plus"
Install it.
When a new window pops up about filters for AdBlock Plus, install the "Fanboy" filter, or use the pulldown menu to choose "EasyList".
Now many web page ad purveyors will be unable to track your Firefox surfing or annoy you with redirects.

The other Add-On you should get for Firefox is called "NoScript".
After it's installed, if you encounter a page on a trusted site that needs Scripting to work properly, you can allow scripts on that page only.

Let me know how these work for you.

Due to Lack of Response this topic is now closed.

If you still require help, please open a new thread in the Infected? Virus, malware, adware, ransomware, oh my! forum, include a fresh FRST log, and wait for a new helper.
