Hello and welcome to Malware Removal Forums

IMPORTANT

Whatever repairs we make, are for fixing your computer problems only and by no means should be used on another computer.
To make cleaning this machine easier:-
  • Continue to respond to this thread until I give you the All Clean!
  • Please DO NOT uninstall/install any programs unless asked to. It is more difficult when files/programs appear or disappear from the logs.
  • Please do not run any scans other than those requested and do not post any logs/reports unless specifically requested to do so.
  • Please follow all instructions in the order posted.
  • If you have any questions or do not understand instructions, please ask before continuing.
  • Please reply to this thread. Do not start a new topic.

IMPORTANT I notice there are signs of one or more P2P (Peer to Peer) File Sharing Programs on your computer.

Azureus
eMule
Vuze

I'd like you to read the MRU policy for P2P Programs.

Please go to Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and uninstall the programs listed above (in red). Also take note that remnants of the above program/s and any other P2P program found will be removed when cleaning.

NEXT Once the P2P programs have been uninstalled Download and Run: RSIT

  • Download random's system information tool (RSIT) by random/random from here and save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on RSIT.exe to run RSIT.
  • Click Continue at the disclaimer screen.
  • Once it has finished, two logs will open. Please post the contents of both log.txt (<<will be maximized) and info.txt (<<will be minimized)

Please reply with:-
  • RSIT logs ( info.txt and log.txt)

Please note, I had to manually remove Azureus by deleting the folder, it wouldn't uninstall otherwise, kept giving a "Couldn't load main class" error.

Here's the log.txt---

I see that you have run a few different tools. Malwarebytes is also on board, if you used it for this problem can you post the log showing what it fixed. If not please update Malwarebytes and post the log it creates.

The log can be found here:

I got a window that said not all items could be removed and to reboot

And did you reboot? Do so if you have not already.

Please give me an update on problems after doing the following.

TFC(Temp File Cleaner):

  • Please download TFC to your desktop,
  • Save any unsaved work. TFC will close all open application windows.
  • Double-click TFC.exe to run the program.
  • If prompted, click "Yes" to reboot.

Note: Save your work. TFC will automatically close any open programs, let it run uninterrupted. It shouldn't take longer take a couple of minutes, and may only take a few seconds. Only if needed will you be prompted to reboot.

Download and run Combofix
This tool is not a toy and not for everyday use.
ComboFix SHOULD NOT be used unless requested by a forum helper

Please download ComboFix from one of these locations:

Link 1
Link 2

* IMPORTANT !!! Save ComboFix.exe to your Desktop

  • Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools.
  • If you need help to disable your protection programs see here.
  • Double click on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts.
  • As part of it's process, ComboFix will check to see if the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed. With malware infections being as they are today, it's strongly recommended to have this pre-installed on your machine before doing any malware removal. It will allow you to boot up into a special recovery/repair mode that will allow us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware.
  • Follow the prompts to allow ComboFix to download and install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console, and when prompted, agree to the End-User License Agreement to install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console.
**Please note: If the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is already installed, ComboFix will continue it's malware removal procedures.

Image
Once the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed using ComboFix, you should see the following message:

Image
Click on Yes, to continue scanning for malware.

When finished, it will produce a log for you. Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply along with a fresh HijackThis log.

If you need help, see this link:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofix/how-to-use-combofix

Please reply with:-
  • Combofix log
  • New HJT log
  • Update on problems

Are you still experiencing the redirects?

Please go to Virus Total <http://www.virustotal.com/> or Jotti
and upload c:\windows\system32\lsdeletec.dll
for scanning.
For Virus Total
1. Please copy and paste c:\windows\system32\lsdeletec.dll in the text box next to the Browse button.
2. Click on Send File.

For Jotti
1. Please copy and paste c:\windows\system32\lsdeletec.dll
in the text box next to the Browse button.

2. Click on Submit.

Repeat for the below file/s:
c:\windows\system32\termsrv.dll

Please post back the results of the scan in your next post.

Yes, just 5 minutes ago I was doing a google search to test, and still got redirected with the ohtgnoenriga site, which then takes me to bing.com.

Will follow the instructions and post results.

I did two searches on my computer and could not find the one titled "lsdeletec.dll". I ran termsrv.dll scan on Jotti.
=======

This file has been scanned before. The results for this previous scan are listed below.

Filename: termsrv.dll
Status:
Scan finished. 4 out of 20 scanners reported malware.
Scan taken on: Sun 24 Jan 2010 06:45:19 (CET) Permalink

File size: 295424 bytes
Filetype: PE32 executable for MS Windows (DLL) (console) Intel 80386 32-bit
MD5: 63999d0abd8dabfd76a9c07f6e104868
SHA1: 509689ba3edd2cfad361773708b72dc35f1c77b8

Then it lists various scanners and most say "Found nothing" but two say "Win32/Spy.Ursnif.A" and one says "VirTool.Win32.Ursnif".

Let me know if the redirects are still happening after doing the following.

COMBOFIX-Script
A word of warning: Please do not run ComboFix on your own. This tool is not a toy and not for everyday use.

  • Please open Notepad (Start -> Run -> type notepad in the Open field -> OK) and copy and paste the text present inside the code box below:

    Code: Select all
    File::
    C:\WINDOWS\tasks\OQMORGL.job
    c:\windows\system32\lsdeletec.dll

     Folder::
    c:\documents and settings\Zhur Lee\Application Data\Azureus
    c:\program files\eMule

    FCopy::
    c:\windows\ServicePackFiles\i386\termsrv.dll | c:\windows\system32\termsrv.dll

    Driver::
    uwmwkavg

    Registry::
    [HKLM\~\services\sharedaccess\parameters\firewallpolicy\standardprofile\GloballyOpenPorts\List]
    "23951:UDP"=-

  • Save this as CFScript.txt and change the "Save as type" to "All Files" and place it on your desktop.

    Image
  • Very Important! Temporarily disable your anti-virus, script blocking and any anti-malware real-time protection before following the steps below. They can interfere with ComboFix or remove some of its embedded files which may cause "unpredictable results".
  • If you need help to disable your protection programs see here.
  • Referring to the screenshot above, drag CFScript.txt into ComboFix.exe.
  • ComboFix will now run a scan on your system. It may reboot your system when it finishes. This is normal.
  • When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Copy and paste the contents of the log in your next reply.

CAUTION: Do not mouse-click ComboFix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

So far haven't had any redirects occur yet from google searches.

So far haven't had any redirects occur yet from google searches.

Excellent, Still a couple of jobs to do though.

Update Java Runtime

You are using an old version of Java. Sun's Java is sometimes updated in order to eliminate the exploitation of vulnerabilities in an existing version. For this reason, it's extremely important that you keep the program up to date, and also remove the older more vulnerable versions from your system. The most current version of Sun Java is: Java Runtime Environment Version 6 Update 21.
  • Go to Java Site
  • Scroll down to where it says "JDK 6 Update 21 (JDK or JRE)"
  • Click the orange Download JRE button to the right
  • Select the Windows platform from the dropdown menu
  • Read the License Agreement and then check the box that says: "I agree to the Java SE Runtime Environment 6 with JavaFX License Agreement". Click on Continue. The page will refresh
  • Click on the link to download Windows Offline Installation & save the file to your desktop
  • Close any programs you may have running - especially your web browser
  • Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel, double-click on Add/Remove Programs
  • Uninstall all old versions of Java (Java 3 Runtime Environment, JRE or JSE) listed below in the code box.
    Code: Select all
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 10
Java 2 Runtime Environment, SE v1.4.2_03
    Java(TM) 6 Update 20
    Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment 6 Update 1

  • Reboot your computer once all Java components are removed
  • Then from your desktop double-click on jre-6u21-windows-i586-p.exe to install the newest version
  • After the install is complete, go into the Control Panel (using Classic View) and double-click the Java Icon. (looks like a coffee cup)
    • On the General tab, under Temporary Internet Files, click the Settings button
    • Next, click on the Delete Files button
    • There are two options in the window to clear the cache - Leave BOTH Checked
        Applications and Applets
        Trace and Log Files
    • Click OK on Delete Temporary Files Window
Note: This deletes ALL the Downloaded Applications and Applets from the CACHE
    • Click OK to leave the Temporary Files Window
    • Click OK to leave the Java Control Panel

Update Adobe Reader
Recently there have been vunerabilities detected in older versions of Adobe Reader. It is strongly suggested that you update to the current version. Adobe Reader 9.3.3
You can download it from http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html
After installing the latest Adobe Reader, uninstall all previous versions.
If you already have Adobe Photoshop® Album Starter Edition installed or do not wish to have it installed UNcheck the box which says Also Download Adobe Photoshop® Album Starter Edition.

Kaspersky Online Scan
Do an online scan with >Kaspersky Online Scanner<
  • Read through the requirements and privacy statement and click on Accept button
  • It will start downloading and installing the scanner and virus definitions. You will be prompted to install an application from Kaspersky. Click Run
  • When the downloads have finished, click on Settings
  • Make sure these boxes are checked (ticked). If they are not, please tick them and click on the Save button:
Spyware, Adware, Dialers, and other potentially dangerous programs
      Archives
      Mail databases
  • Click on My Computer under Scan
  • Once the scan is complete, it will display the results. Click on View Scan Report
  • You will see a list of infected items there. Click on Save Report As...
  • Save this report to a convenient place. Change the Files of type to Text file (.txt) before clicking on the Save button
  • Please post this log in your next reply
