This only happens occasionally, and when it does, I shut down immediately. Also, I noticed 11 copies of Svchost.exe running in the background whenever this happens. Usually I have only about 5. I should mention that a couple weeks ago I received an email from a friend with a link that I clicked on. The next day the friend sent an email to everyone in their address book saying that her email had been hijacked by a virus. I downloaded Hijackthis but when I do a scan and save log, it says it isn't being allowed access to the host file. Then after the scan it says, "can't find file: C:\Program Files\TrendMicro\HijackThis/Hijackthis.log Do you want to create a new file?" I say yes. A blank notepad sheet comes up and same results the next time. Thanks in advance for any help.
