system restore; a clarification please

system restore; a clarification please

if we are scanning a pc for a know infection, do we need to have system restore switched off while we are doing that?

Hi P;3 ...Please don't. Should something go wrong you would be left with nothing to restore. An infected restore is better than no restore.
Once a system is clean we always recommend turning it off, reboot, turn it back on.
You can always post a log for review.
