I have been battling a malicious malware in my laptop, and I have tried dozens of solutions, and I cannot seem to resolve this issue. Basically, there are two big issues:
1) Random redirection of search results, no matter what search engine is used. Also, random new IE session redirecting to some random site
2) The malware is tring to connect to an external IP address, which my LavaSoft AdAware seems to be stopping
All virus checks, Avast!, and MBAM scans, and several others seem to not find the culprits! I am becoming frustrated. Here are some of the things I have done:
- If I issue a Ipconfig /flushdns command, it seems to take care of the problem for a short time, and then it appears again.
- I have reset and flashed my router, with no help!
- I have disconnected other machines from my router
- I am using the wirless in-home network
- I have done the system scans in Safe Mode (same problems)
