An antimalware program installed itself onto my computer and now windows are popping up with the fake "malware removal programs" advertising. Everytime I open up internet explorer I have no internet use, and it takes me to the page to active their programs...I cannot even log onto msn messenger, or establish any real internet connection for that matter. I have lost complete control of my computer functions and there is no way for me to access the internet in hopes of even the slightest removal. Also no .exe files are working and if I open a word document or notepad it closes them immediately. The only working functions are those in the "my computer" and in control panel, and I cannot even turn my security center on! Do I need to have a tech specialist come over and hook up his portable machine to my hard drive to try and fix it? Mine is a dell by the way. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you for reading.
Your best option is to reformat and reinstall your operating system. As you have a Dell, you most likely have a restore partition on your computer, which would mean that your computer can be restored to its original factory condition by rebooting and depressing a particular key or combination of keys.
As the resolution of this issue requires a reformat, and referrals to forums that can assist with that process have been made, this topic will now be closed.
