Hi, i'm new to the forum.

Norton 360 was popping up today saying it blocked an attack, which was "https tidserv request 2"

So here I am.

I ran the kasperkey tdsskiller, and it found one problem and fixed it.

Here's the hijack this log.

I just want to make sure everything is gone. Thanks in advance

Hello jay88 and welcome to the forums :)

I am turtledove, and will be assisting you with your log.
If you still need assistance, please do the following:

*Print all instructions or Copy to Notepad for reference.
*Please note, unless I'm notified ahead of time, this topic will close if there is not a response in 3 Days.
*Place a link to this thread in your Favorites/Bookmarks for easily returning here.
*Please respond until I give the all clear, as absence of symptoms does NOT always mean Clean.
*Please do not run any other tools/scans unless requested* Do not install/uninstall anything unless requested
**Please be sure you have read Malware Removal Forum Guidelines and Rules especially P2P Policy
*If you can do the above all should go well.
*If you do not understand a step, please STOP and ASK before proceeding*

**All fixes are for this computer and the current issues on it. Please Do Not use these instructions on another issue or computer.**

Please be aware that removing Malware is a potentially hazardous undertaking. I will take care not to knowingly suggest courses of action that might damage your computer. However it is impossible for me to foresee all interactions that may happen between the software on your computer and those we'll use to clear you of infection, and I cannot guarantee the safety of your system. It is possible that we might encounter situations where the only recourse is to re-format and re-install your operating system, or to necessitate you taking your computer to a repair shop.

Since it has been some time since your above post, please post the following logs. I will go over the new logs and return as soon as possible.

Next Step: Download and Run RSIT
  • Please download Random's System Information Tool by random/random from here and save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on RSIT.exe to run RSIT.
  • Click Continue at the disclaimer screen.
  • Once it has finished, two logs will open:
    • log.txt will be opened maximized.
    • info.txt will be opened minimized.
  • Please post the contents of both log.txt and info.txt.

Thank you

Unread postby turtledove » June 13th, 2010, 5:10 am

Hello jay88,

Thank you for the log. :)

*Please print out or copy these instructions to notepad

Step 1

Please go to My Computer, and open drive C:\
Locate C:\RSIT\info.txt and post if found.

Still in drive C:\ post the following in order of time done (earliest first)

C:\TDSSKiller.2.3.2.0_09.06.2010_19.44.57_log.txt
C:\TDSSKiller.2.3.2.0_09.06.2010_19.51.33_log.txt

** Please post in separate posts, as all three will not fit in one reply*

Step 2

Remove P2P Programs

  • I notice there are signs of one or more P2P (Person to Person) File Sharing Programs on your computer.

    uTorrent

  • Please read the Guidelines for P2P Programs where we explain why it's not a good idea to have them.

  • Note: Even if you are using a "safe" P2P program, it is only the program that is safe. You will be sharing files from uncertified sources, and these are often infected. The bad guys use P2P file-sharing as a major conduit to spread their wares.

  • Click on start
  • Then Run
  • In the open text entry box please copy/paste appwiz.cpl Then click enter.
  • Press the "Remove" or "Change/Remove"...button to uninstall the programs listed above (in red) and any other P2P you have installed NOW.
  • Take care when answering any questions posed by an uninstaller. Some questions may be worded to deceive you into keeping the program.

Delete the Folders in RED if still present:
C:\Program Files\uTorrent
C:\Documents and Settings\Jay Stein\Application Data\uTorrent

Step 3

Please Post the following:
2 TDSS logs, post separately
C:\RSIT\info.txt
How your computer is running currently

Thank you

Hello jay88,
Please print out or copy these instructions as you may be off line during some fixes.

Back Up registry with ERUNT

  • Please use the following link and download ERUNT to your desktop. HERE
  • Click on the erunt-setup.exe
  • Follow the prompts to install ERUNT
  • Choose language
  • A set up window will pop up. It will ask: Create ERUNT entry in to the Start up folder, answer NO

    Image

  • Backup your registry to the default location

Note: To restore your registry (if needed), go to the folder and start ERDNT.exe

Next

Download and Run ComboFix

  • Please download ComboFix from one of the following links.

    Link 1.

    Link 2.

**IMPORTANT !!! Save ComboFix.exe to your Desktop**

  • Please disable any Antivirus or Firewall you have active, as shown in this topic. Please close all open application windows.
  • Double click on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts
  • As part of it's process, ComboFix will check to see if the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed. With malware infections being as they are today, it's strongly recommended to have this pre-installed on your machine before doing any malware removal. It will allow you to boot up into a special recovery/repair mode that will allow us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware
  • Follow the prompts to allow ComboFix to download and install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console, and when prompted, agree to the End-User License Agreement to install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console
Image
**Please note: If the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is already installed, ComboFix will continue it's malware removal procedures.

Once the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed using ComboFix, you should see the following message:
Image

  • Click on Yes, to continue scanning for malware.
  • When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Please include the contents of C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply
A word of warning: Neither I nor sUBs are responsible for any damage you may cause to your machine by running ComboFix on your own. This tool is not a toy and not for everyday use.
ComboFix SHOULD NOT be used unless requested by a forum helper

Post:
C:\ComboFix.txt
How is your computer doing now?

Thank you

Due to lack of activity this topic is now closed.

If you still require help, please open a new thread in the Infected? Virus, malware, adware, ransomware, oh my! forum, include a fresh FRST log, and wait for a new helper.
