I call this one. First, how does one die in battle without getting wounded? So the first 2 things make no sense. Second, the statue of George Washington in Richmond Virgina has him on a horse with one of the horse's front legs in the air. George Washington did not die in battle.

It doesnt say that 1 leg in the air means they died in battle, it says they died as a results of wounds they got in battle!

However I have no idea how George Washington died, so ignore me :)

Washington died Dec 14, 1799 after becoming ill.

He was, at that time, Commander in Chief of the army(appointed in 1798). He had retired from the presidency in 1797 and was preparing his army for battle against the French.

No, GW died many years after he was in battle. It is said it was syphilis that he died from though.

I've seen most of the things from that list. I'm sure several are on snopes.com listed as BS. I'm not trying to rain on your parade, but some of those things have been circulating the net for years.

Maybe it coudl be better worded:

"If a statue in the park of a person on a horse has both front legs in the air, the person died on the battlefield. If the horse has one front leg in the air the person died later as a result of wounds received in battle. If the horse has all four legs on the ground, the person died of natural causes.
