I received some messages on the screen purporting to be from my system advising that there appeared to be various infections. I have seen no other evidence of problems yet.

In response to your question, yes, the computer is sometimes used for business. However, business applications are not loaded on the laptop itself; instead the laptop is connected to a Terminal Server for business use.
