Laptop (May Be Infected)

Okay everyone, I've recently reformatted this laptop that I'm working on for my friend. The first time i reformatted it, it worked beautifully, I installed all the programs that I usually put on when I install windows and all that jazz. However, after about one day it started to not boot properly, it would start to boot get to the windows XP loading screen, and then blue screen, and go back to the original gateway bootup menu. It would continue to do this, so I took a look at it. For formatting I usually use a program call GPARTED Live. So I took a look at and it told me that there were 2 bad boot sectors, advised that I make a back up of all information and reformat. So seeing as everything on the hard drive was replaceable I decided to just format it. I reinstalled everything and it has been fine ever since. However, it has begun to run a little slower, and is taking more time to boot up. So I've decided to submit my HIJackThis log and see if anyone who have a better expertise the me can take a look at it. Please let me know if there is anything out of the ordinary that you see, and let me know how I can clean it.

Also if you have any suggestions for a better anti-virus and firewall, let me know, Im using AVG 9 Internet security, as you might have noticed, and I've heard that it does take a lot resources. So thank you for you time.
