Browsers won't connect

Laptop cannot connect to the internet using browers (have tried IE, Firefox and Chrome). Other applications that require internet access are working (weather gadgets, etc). I can ping any site with no loss. However, when I try to connect via a browser, it says "waiting for domain name" at the bottom of the screen, and nothing ever comes up. Using Fiddler 2 to view exactly which traffic is getting in and out on port 80 shows absolutely no movement. It almost looked as if we had a problem with our internet filtering software, as we were running BlueCoat's K9 internet filter, but after uninstalling that, the same problem persists.

I tried resetting Internet Explorer, but as I did so it would hang, and I had to force a safe mode reboot in order to successfully reset IE. It's reset now to factory settings.

I have installed Norton Antivirus and have run a full system scan, cleaning up anything it found. I also ran AVG free 9.0, but after receiving advice from an administrator here, I uninstalled this and am only running Norton now. I also ran MBAM and cleaned up any threats. I recently ran HiJackThis, and the log is posted below.

I see that you were able to post a HijackThis log this time. However, your HJT log indicates that you're using a 64 bit operating system.

Unfortunately, the tools we use to analyze and remove infections do not work properly on a 64 bit operating system, and their results cannot be relied upon. Because of this, it is almost impossible for us to correctly diagnose problems, and the fixes we might offer could potentially do as much damage to your computer as any infection you might have.

Due to the above stated reasons, we do not at this time offer support for 64 bit operating systems. We are sorry that we are currently unable to assist you.
