Hi again,

the german part means: unable to delete file.

I also rebooted when OTM asked for it.

I tried to upload the file on Virus total and Jotti but both respond that the file is empty (0 bytes) and don't scan it.

Apart from that one particular file, that I would like gone your logs are looking good.

Looking back on your RSIT log I would like you take note of the following:-

System drive C: has 437 MB (1%) free of 85 GB
Total RAM: 1022 MB (22% free)

For optimal performance you really need to have at least 15% of your C: drive free. Is there anything you can either move or remove to get to that 15% free? Programs that you no longer use is a good place to start. I am hoping that once we achieve this then we will be able to remove that file.

If you can get to that mark I would like you to try OTM again.

• Double-click OTM.exe. (Vista users, please right click on OTM.exe and select "Run as an Administrator")
• Copy the lines in the codebox below.

Hi,

unfortunately I had some problems in the meantime. I deleted some stuff and had around 8GB free on my hard disk. The next time I wanted to start my computer it always rebooted after showing the starting options. I could neither start normal WinXP nor the recovery mode. I also couldnt start in safe mode. The computer was just immediately rebooting.

I then reinstalled win xp from cd into another folder (windows2). This worked and surprisingly afterwards both installations worked again. So now I m uing my old windows installation and have a second one on the hd. Since Internet explorer 7 did not work any more I installed IE8, which I m using now.

Do you have any idea what could have caused this rebooting problem? Since I dont seem to need the second windows installation, is there a way to remove it?

Now I have 6-7 GB free disc space, should I proceed with OTM?

It could be to do with something that you deleted. That would be my best guess since all was running fine previously.

I would leave all as is until we finish here. I would suggest asking in a general tech forum regarding the second installation, they are more geared up to give you the best instructions for that particular issue.

I am not too worried about that file at this stage if all is running well. So how is the computer running? any problems? Please update me and if all is ok then we will clean out the tools used and the quarantine files.

Since you are not having any further problems, I would suggest you proceed as follows.

MBAM is a great tool for you to keep and use on a regular basis.

Uninstall ComboFix:

• Click on Start >> Run...
• Now type in ComboFix /Uninstall into the and click OK.
• Note the space between the X and the /Uninstall, it needs to be there.
• 

The above procedure will implement some cleanup procedures as well as reset System Restore points
Let's clear out the programs we've been using to clean up your computer, they are not suitable for general malware removal and could cause damage if used inappropriately.

• Double-click OTM.exe. (Vista users, please right click on OTM.exe and select "Run as an Administrator")
• Click the CleanUp! button.
• Select Yes when the "Begin cleanup Process?" prompt appears.
• If you are prompted to Reboot during the cleanup, select Yes.
• The tool will delete itself once it finishes, if not delete it by yourself.

Here are some free programs I recommend that could help you improve your computer's security.

Update your Antivirus programs and other security products regularly to avoid new threats that could infect your system. If you do not update your anti virus software then it will not be able to catch any of the new variants that may come out.

You can use one of these sites to check if any updates are needed for your pc.
