Whenever I'm online (via Internet Explorer on Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 or 3 Home Edition) or access My Computer, Windows Search, or operations within those programs, I end up having to cancel Search Settings 1.2. I've found the program, and deleted it, but it still comes back. The folder was in C:\Program Files\Search Settings, but I'm scared to delete it permanently (in case that prevents me from removing it. I have run multiple full scans with Microsoft Security Essentials, and have Googled what to do under various searches. I have read at least two forum responses on this particular site, but neither post helped me. I have tried using Add/Remove Programs, but it says it's configuring Search Settings 1.2, the load bar goes to 100%, then it says it cannot find searchsettings.msi (a .msi file is one for the installation of a program). Search Settings then tries to install itself again, and the Add/Remove Programs window shows the load bar going from its position at 100% back down to zero. After this, is says there was a fatal installation error.
