Security researchers have spotted the Zeus botnet running an unauthorized command and control center on Amazon's EC2 cloud computing infrastructure.

The whole concept of Cloud Computing is IMO inherently insecure and an open invitation for this kind of activity.

Like so many of the modern web concepts, it was never fully thought through in terms of security.

I agree totally Gary, I wouldn't want all my stuff stored out there somewhere. It's staying right here on my pc.

I certainly wouldn't store anything of significance online.

I might consider backing up non-personal data, but since storage media costs so little I probably wouldn't even bother doing that.

I certainly would never want a PC that did not have on-board storage and relied on cloud services to operate.
