Hi
I think I have malware on my computer. I get redirected to ads / other websites when I click on links on google.

Sometimes there's a problem after rebooting where all I see is my desktop background and nothing else on my screen / freezes. I turn off my laptop if that happens.

Other than that- I have no other problems.

I don't have any experience with viruses or malware; I use free antivirus programs like avg.
Recently (after looking at similar posts) I downloaded various antivirus/malware/antispyware programs like malwarebytes, hijackthis, unhackme, kaspersky, eset, and more. Some of those programs I uninstalled.

These programs still haven't fixed my problem though some of them did alert me of some viruses and I deleted them.

One more thing I should mention is that I used system restore early into the onset of this problem. (Yes, that was stupid. I'm sorry if it complicates things). I restored to an earlier time.

That's about it -
Thank you (and sorry in advance for not knowing much about my computer)

Also, I have update my situation:
I think I accidently renamed some important infected files through malwarebytes because I have the following problems now:
- I can't see my taskbar or desktop icons (only wallpaper is visible)
- I have to use taskmanager to do anything
- my computer can't run in safe mode
- my computer can't restore (file is missing)
- I can't open control panel - security center
- and I misplaced the cd that came with this laptop (the one that reinstalls everything it came with).

I remember some the viruses that I've been infected with : win heur, vundo, trojan dropper. generic, and some new ones now.
