Malware help please - media2.tmlatn and Nexplore

My computer has recently been acting up on me. It is incredibly slow to boot up, I often have to click several times to get a window open, and in Internet Explorer (or Firefox) I get an insane amount of popup/new windows - mainly media2.tmlatn.com and Nexplore, but there are others as well. Equally as frustrating is that just about every other button I press on the keyboard is not registering...it's taking me painstakingly long to type this - forgive any spelling errors I miss as a result of this. :-)

What have I done so far to remedy my problem:
1. Ran Norton Antivirus scan with the latest updates - found nothing
2. Downloaded PC Tools Spyware Doctor and paid the $30 license fee. Ran the scan, it found some things and eliminated/quarantined them
3. With both #1 and #2 above not solving my problem, went to the good ol' internet search and stumbled on this great site. I have spent the last 2 hours reading various posts and instructions. I was hoping to post my HiJackThis log for the users on this board to review, however, it will not open. I tried all of the suggested 'renaming' and relocating in different directories to no avail.

Could someone please help me get to a point where I can run a scan and post a log that is helpful in this forum? This computer has otherwise been great for me, so I'm hoping with a little more patience from myself and some expertise from you, I'll be good as new again.

We understand that you are having difficulty running certain programs, including HijackThis. However, in order for us to help you it is necessary that you provide us with a HijackThis log, and it is possible you may be able to trick the malware into letting you do this. First, download HijackThis to a clean computer, then rename it from HijackThis.exe to any other name you want, using an .exe extension, for example... YourLastName.exe. Once you have done that, burn it to a CD (preferable to using a flash drive that may easily become infected) then transfer the renamed file to the infected computer and run a scan, then start a new topic and include your HijackThis log.

Please follow the guideline at the link below to start a new topic and post your HijackThis log. If you are unable to create and post a HijackThis log, then your only option may be to reformat your computer and reinstall the operating system.
