Greetings

I would like to get a better look at your system, please do the following so I can get some more detailed logs

Download DDS

Please download DDS by sUBs from one of the links below and save it to your desktop:

Image
Download DDS and save it to your desktop

Link1
Link2
Link3

Please disable any anti-malware program that will block scripts from running before running DDS.

  • Double-Click on dds.scr and a command window will appear. This is normal.
  • Shortly after two logs will appear:
    • DDS.txt
    • Attach.txt
  • A window will open instructing you save & post the logs
  • Save the logs to a convenient place such as your desktop
  • Copy the contents of both logs & post in your next reply

GMER:

Download GMER Rootkit Scanner from here or here.
  • Extract the contents of the zipped file to desktop.
  • Double click GMER.exe. If asked to allow gmer.sys driver to load, please consent .
  • If it gives you a warning about rootkit activity and asks if you want to run scan...click on NO, then use the following settings for a more complete scan..
Image
  • In the right panel, you will see several boxes that have been checked. Uncheck the following ...
    • Sections
    • IAT/EAT
    • Drives/Partition other than Systemdrive (typically C:\)
    • Show All (don't miss this one)
  • Then click the Scan button & wait for it to finish.
  • Once done click on the [Save..] button, and in the File name area, type in "ark.txt" or it will save as a .log file which cannot be uploaded to your post.
Save it where you can easily find it, such as your desktop

**Caution**
Rootkit scans often produce false positives. Do NOT take any action on any "<--- ROOKIT" entries

:information and logs:

In your next post I need the following

      1.logs from DDS
      2.log from GMER

Hello TM

Things are looking good, looks like we got it before you came here but there is some things to do.

malwarebytes is a good program -one of the best- (so leave it on) but it is an antimalware program not an antivirus so I will suggest an antivirus below for you

uninstall some programs

    1. click on start
    2. then go to settings
    3. after that you need control panel
    4. look for the icon programs and features
    click on the following programs

    ALOT Toolbar
    Java(TM) 6 Update 7
    Norton Internet Security

    and click on remove

Update Java

Download the latest version of JRE 6 Update 13.

  • Scroll down to where it says "JRE 6 Update 17".
  • Click the "Download" button to the right.
  • Select your Platform (windows) and check the box that says: "Java SE Runtime Environment 6 with JavaFX License Agreement .".
  • Click on Continue.
  • Click on the link to download Windows Offline Installation (jre-6u13-windows-i586-p.exe) and save it to your desktop. Do NOT use the Sun Download Manager..
  • Close any programs you may have running - especially your web browser.
  • Then from your desktop double-click on the download to install the newest version.

Remove Norton

Note : You should first attempt to remove your Norton product using Add/Remove Programs in the Windows Control Panel (Programs and Features, in Windows Vista). This is the best method. After uninstalling using Windows Add/Remove Programs, run the Norton Removal Tool to ensure successful removal of all Norton references.

Please go to this -page- and select the product you have

1 Download the Norton Removal Tool.
Save the file to the Windows desktop.
2 On the Windows desktop, double-click the Norton Removal Tool icon.
      3 Follow the on-screen instructions.
Your computer may be restarted more than once, and you may be asked to repeat some steps after the computer restarts.

Enabling System Restore

To enable System Restore do the following:

1.Click on the Start button to open your Start Menu.

2.Click on the Control Panel menu option.

3.Click on the System and Maintenance menu option.

4.Click on the System menu option.

5.Click on System Protection in the left-hand task list.

6.Put a checkmark in the checkboxes next to each hard drive listed under the Create restore points automatically on the selected disks: section.

7.Press the Apply button and then the OK button.
System Restore is now enabled on your computer.

antivirus

here is a list of free antiviruses that you can use for free- just pick one (I like the first one)

1) Antivir PersonalEdition Classic- Free anti-virus software for Windows. Detects and removes more than 50,000 viruses. Free support.
2) avast! 4 Home Edition - Anti-virus program for Windows. The home edition is freeware for noncommercial users.
3) AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition - Free edition of the AVG anti-virus program for Windows.

ok I think this is enough for a day so after you have finished with the above let me have a new DDS log

you don't need to attach it just copy and paste it into the post like you did with hijackthis - if you need to just make more than one post

GOOD JOB SO FAR!!

Hello TM

Hope your having fun on your vacation!!

uninstall list

Make an uninstall list using HijackThis (this is the program I had you install first)
To access the Uninstall Manager you would do the following:

    1. Start HijackThis
    2. Click on the Config button
    3. Click on the Misc Tools button
    4. Click on the Open Uninstall Manager button.
    5. Click on the Save list... button and specify where you would like to save this file. When you press Save button a notepad will open with the contents of that file. Simply copy and paste the contents of that notepad here on your next reply.

Hello TM

did you install the avira antivirus? I don't see it on the list.

I now have CNET Tech Tracker installed
I also don't see this on the list

Just in case I want you to run it again but this time right click on the hijackthis icon and ''run as admin''

let me have the log again
