CTV****.exe malware removal

Unread postby puno » November 4th, 2009, 5:01 pm

I noticed a process named CTV****.exe the stars are 4 random digits, I killed the process and deleted the file, but it kept reappearing after each reboot. I also get random pop ups appearing and very often have iexplore open four times in the background (When I have only opened one instance if it.)

I've tried spybot, adaware and malwarebytes and super spyware and It's stopped the CTV file reappaering but I'm still getting the occassional pop up (when I haven't got ie open) and I suspect my system is not fully clean.

Edit: Forgot to say my clock is also losing time, despite being corrected

Edit2: Just noticed the memory usage on one of the iexplore.exe's climbs to about 200mb. This happens even if I just keep the one browser window open on google.com
