pretty sure it's this starwind thing, but ad-aware, stinger, spybot, etc. isn't getting rid of it. i have a wallpaper that warns of spyware on my computer, and a popup every minute or so in the taskbar that warns of spyware.

here's my log:

Hi paranosis

You have a case of new.net, Spy Sheriff, Surf Sidekick and possibly Look2Me.
You mentioned Starwind. StarWind is a process which belongs to Alcohol 120% and provides network drive sharing capabilities to this product. So we can leave that alone.

OK lets get started

Please go to:
Start
Control panel
Add/Remove programs

Find and remove these programs (if they are present)

New.Net
NewDotNet

(If some programs listed are not present, please do not panic)
If you don't have that option or if you have difficulties then please follow the instructions on this site
==========

Then please go to http://malwareremoval.com/plog/index.ph ... 8&blogId=3 and follow those directions.

Afterwards post a new HJT log and ewido report.

Thanks,

Rogue
