Malware problem~cannot view taskmgr

Unread postby Catbarber » October 18th, 2009, 7:36 pm

Hello I have a Toshiba laptop that has recently been hit with popup windows that I cannot stop. When i try to look at taskmgr (control-alt-delete) the taskmgr button is inactive. I found some suspicious programs loading in my startup file tab using "msconfig" program in windows XP. I unchecked the ones named NVCPL , SEARCHPROTECTION and PAVRM. I am able to log on the internet but am still getting hit with relentless pop up windows. I have attached the first hijackthis log created today (created after I unchecked the 3 programs listed above using msconfig.

OPERATING SYSTEM = WINDOWS XP

Thank you for your help.
