Malware Remover and HiJackThis wont run.....

Hi,

Ok well i found this site as i have just done a brand new install of Windows XP (Only 4 days old) and things have started go wrong. When i use google and click on the page i want it opens up the wrong websites (i googled gmail, and it opened up Myspace). Also sometimes it doesnt search at all. The loading bar will go as normal but the page never changes from the original search page. Also computer has been rather slow while browsing, slower than my laptop which runs off the same router (but uses the wireless connection).

So i decided to install Malware Remover, after install i iniated a scan then 5 seconds later the program disappeared and when i went to open it a message box came up saying that "Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access them". After that i downloaded and installed HiJackThis, it installed fine, asked me what i wanted to do, so i clicked the scan button and the program just disappeared. I now get the same message as with the Malware program when i try to run it.

Oh and the original reason that i installed Malware Remover is because Windows Live came up with the following message after logging in. "Windows Live Communications Platform has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

I have ESET antivirus and firewall (i disconnected from the net, turned these off and the programs above still did not run).
I also use a router to connect to the internet.
Programs installed since install: ESET, windows live, firefox, steam, vuze, adobe, power iso, img burn, vlc. And obviosuly Malware Remover and HiJackThis.

I hope i have posted this in the right spot. Sorry for no HiJackThis log, but i cant get the program to run.

Edit: I ran the kaspersky online scan and it found nothing wrong, 0 suspicious 0 infected.

We understand that you are having difficulty running certain programs, including HijackThis. However, in order for us to help you it is necessary that you provide us with a HijackThis log, and it is possible you may be able to trick the malware into letting you do this. First, download HijackThis to a clean computer, then rename it from HijackThis.exe to any other name you want, using an .exe extension, for example... YourLastName.exe. Once you have done that, burn it to a CD (preferable to using a flash drive that may easily become infected) then transfer the renamed file to the infected computer and run a scan, then start a new topic and include your HijackThis log.

Please follow the guideline at the link below to start a new topic and post your HijackThis log. If you are unable to create and post a HijackThis log, then your only option may be to reformat your computer and reinstall the operating system.
