First, I ran the FixServices.bat file. Next, I tried to upload the files
below to Virustotal, but the files could not be found on my computer. I tried
to copy and paste the file path and use the browse button at Virustotal without any luck.

C:\Users\Damien\AppData\Local\Temp\FTKP.exe
C:\Users\Damien\AppData\Local\Temp\JDB.exe
C:\Users\Damien\AppData\Local\Temp\ONITC.exe
C:\Users\Damien\AppData\Local\Temp\QGHZEOMAQLRY.exe
C:\Users\Damien\AppData\Local\Temp\RWNYFKFNJ.exe
C:\Users\Damien\AppData\Local\Temp\ZCDSSOC.exe

Next, I ran ATF-Cleaner and it removed 66.0MB of data.

Finally, I rebooted and ran HijackThis. Here is the log.

Hi demarq2001,

Thanks for the information, we need to dig a little deeper now.

Download GMER Rootkit Scanner from here.
  • Double click the .exe file. If asked to allow gmer.sys driver to load, please consent
  • If it gives you a warning at program start about rootkit activity and asks if you want to run a scan...click NO.
  • Run Gmer again and click on the Rootkit tab.
  • Look at the right hand side (under Files) and uncheck all drives with the exception of your C drive.
  • Make sure all other boxes on the right of the screen are checked, EXCEPT for "Show All".
  • Click on the "Scan" and wait for the scan to finish.
Note: Before scanning, make sure all other running programs are closed and no other actions like a scheduled antivirus scan will occur while this scan completes. Also do not use your computer during the scan.
  • When completed, click on the Copy button and right-click on your Desktop, choose "New" > Text document. Once the file is created, open it and right-click again and choose Paste or Ctrl+V. Save the file as gmer.txt and copy the information in your next reply.
  • Note: If you have any problems, try running GMER in SAFE MODE"
Important! Please do not select the "Show all" checkbox during the scan..

Please post the GMER log into your next reply.

Hi demarq2001,

Using Rootkit Revealer

Please download Rootkit Revealer from Sysinternals and save it to your desktop.

  • Right click on RootkitRevealer.zip and select Extract All....
  • Click Next on seeing the Welcome screen.
  • You will see a screen asking you to select where you want the files to be extracted to. By default, this will be desktop.
  • Click Next again.
  • Check (tick) Show extracted files box and click Finish.
  • Double click on RootkitRevealer.exe to run it.
  • A license agreement will be shown to you. Read through it and click on Agree.
  • Click on Scan at the bottom right hand corner.
  • When the scan is done, Rootkit Revealer will say Scan complete: X discrepancies found (X are numbers; message at the bottom left hand corner).
  • Click on File > Save.
  • By default, it would save to C:\Windows\System32 folder.
  • Click on Desktop on the left, then click on the Save button.
  • A RootkitRevealer.txt will be on your desktop.
  • Open it, select all the contents, copy and paste the contents in your next reply.

Now please run Malwarebytes Antimalware, first update it and then run a full scan and post the log back here along with the RootkitRevealer log.

I tried running RootkitRevealer as an administator and recieved the following error message:

Unable to install RootkitRevealer service: The service did not respond to the
start or control request in a timely fashion.

I couldn't get it to run in safe mode either. I did a Google search and found out that this program may not be compatible with Vista. I also tried to run Malwarebytes Antimalware twice and both times the program errored out. This has never happened before. Any suggestions?

Hi demarq2001,

The infection on your PC is proving difficult to isolate but we will get there eventually.

  • Download The Avira AntiVir Rescue System from here
  • Just double-click on the rescue system package to burn it to a CD/DVD.
  • Then please use that CD/DVD with Avira Rescue System to boot your computer.
At the boot option please press the number 1 on your keyboard to 1 Boot AntiVir Rescue System (default) and press Enter or just wait.

You will then see the graphical interface of Rescue CD loading modules and mounting devices. The default language is German, but you can change it to English anytime by clicking on the English flag on the lower-left side of the screen.

Image

Under Configuration, please select Scan all files, Try to repair infected files and Rename files if they cannot be removed?.
Image

Then please go back to Virus scanner and click Start scanneren.

Now click on Virus scanner and then click Start Scanner.

Please post back here with the results of the scan.

I was able to create and run the Avira AntiVIr Rescue Disk. It listed 1 record and 12 warnings, but I cannot locate the log file. Copy and paste would not work becasue I had to reboot. Any suggestions?

I ran the fixservices.bat and ATF Cleaner successfully. Afterwards I ran Hijack This and recieved the following error before the scan completed:

"For some reason your system denied write access to the Hosts file. If any hijacked domains are in this file, Hijack This may NOT be able to fix this..."

Here is my Hijackthis log after reboot:
