I can't seem to get rid of this virus/malware.

I got a virus on my computer. I knew right away because the command prompt screen popped up for a second. I have been using avg and malwarebytes' to clean it, but new stuff keeps popping up. The problem was that it said my administrator didn't give me permission do do things like change my desktop background or run task manager. It gave my administrator a password (which I figured out how to reset). Several times it would not let me go into safe mode, it gave me a blue screen. I'm not sure why that changed. My background said something like "warning: this machine has been infected..." and on the toolbar (the section with the time) a program was running that said it would download something to clean my machine if i clicked on the window. It has also done something to system restore, maybe deleted all my restore points or is denying my access. It is stuck on august with no restore points listed. Also, it restricted my access to the internet at first. I am running with none of my startup items checked except for ctfmon.

I have fixed the background, the program is no longer running in my toolbar, I can get into safe mode, run task manager, my background changed back to normal (after running avg), and I can get on the internet. My current known problems are that there are no system restore points, and new malware/viruses keep being found when I do scans. (For the scans, the issues are removed and i am prompted to restart my computer, and I immediately do another scan and find more.) Also, I use firefox for web browsing.
