I'm facing a problem that I'm suspecting is malware related. Yesterday I tried to start malwarebytes but it wouldn't run (runtime error). Tried spywareblaster and also wouldn't run. I started HijackThis and did a scan-only but it wouldn't finish. It told me:
-----------------------------------------------
An unexpected error has occured at procedure: modMain_StartScan()
Error #5 - Invalid procedure call or argument
Windows version: Windows NT 5.01.2600 (I'm running XP, don't know if it's the same thing or not)
MSIE version: 8.0.6001.18702
HijackThis version: 2.0.2
-----------------------------------------------
I looked around and read somewhere a suggestion to update something (don't remember what) but after I did that, malwarebytes and spywareblaster started working again, but still the HJT problem persists.
In the meantime, my internet connection (wireless) has started breaking up, in the sense that it doesn't disconnect, but it doesn't respond either, webpages don't open, the small pc at the bottom right is not lighting up at all. This comes and goes (now it's fine). I don't know if these two are related. It is with great difficulty that I was even able to post this message, after several router and pc restarts.
Please help! Thanks in advance.
