hijackthis log - stubborn virus that i can't get rid of

Unread postby spqr » July 22nd, 2009, 7:06 pm

Trying to clean up my mom's computer - using McAfee Enterprise + Antispyware 8.5.0i I found 90+ viruses and trojans by running a full system scan in safemode - but the computer is definitely not clean yet and there must still be some malware protected by rootkits or something because it keeps turning Security Center off every time the computer reboots and the computer is being blocked from accessing a lot of the tech forums, Windows Update, and sites like safer-networking.org (so programs like Spybot S&D can't update at all). Here's my hijackthis log - I greatly appreciate this!

This computer is on Windows XP 64bit edition

I see from your HJT log that you're using a 64 bit operating system.

Unfortunately, the tools we use to analyze and remove infections do not work properly on a 64 bit operating system, and their results cannot be relied upon. Because of this, it is almost impossible for us to correctly diagnose problems, and the fixes we might offer could potentially do as much damage to your computer as any infection you might have.

Due to the above stated reasons, we do not at this time offer support for 64 bit operating systems. We are sorry that we are currently unable to assist you.

This topic is now closed.
