TrojanDownloader problem

Unread postby killpurakat » June 20th, 2009, 11:39 pm

My computer hasn't had any problems before, but about a few weeks ago, a program called Windows Defender popped up (right after I turned my computer on) and said it detected something called TrojanDownloader:Win32/Small. It also said this program was severely bad.

I told it to delete the problem, and it said it did. It then performed another scan and kept finding it. After the third time, I told it to ignore it and used my Norton program to perform a scan. It detected nothing, so I went back to Windows Defender and it said the program was still there. I had to go to work, so I shut off my computer, and when I got back home and turned it on, both scanning programs detected nothing wrong. Windows Defender does have a "History" feature that lists detecting the threat and says it was successfully removed (four times).

I've been having credit card troubles recently, though, right at the same time as Windows Defender told me about the TrojanDownloader, and I've heard Trojans can be used to steal credit card info. I thought maybe it would be best if I asked someone for help to make sure the malicious program was really gone and not just somehow hiding.

Below is the HijcakThis log, copied and pasted from Notepad. Thank you very much for whatever help you can give me.

I see from your HJT log that you're using a 64 bit operating system.

Unfortunately, the tools we use to analyze and remove infections do not work properly on a 64 bit operating system, and their results cannot be relied upon. Because of this, it is almost impossible for us to correctly diagnose problems, and the fixes we might offer could potentially do as much damage to your computer as any infection you might have.

Due to the above stated reasons, we do not at this time offer support for 64 bit operating systems. We are sorry that we are currently unable to assist you.

This topic is now closed.
