Trojan! Adware!

Unread postby Groffles » May 25th, 2009, 12:09 pm

I need some help! I recently scanned my computer for a regular check-up and I found both a Trojan and Adware!

The name of the Adware is:
Adware Generic2.ABZP

At Memory location:
C:\Program Files\Onlines Services\PeoplePC\ISP5900\Branding\ppal3ppc.exe

The named Infection is:
Trojan horse BackDoor.Delf.BVF

At memory location:
C:\Program Files\Webroot\Spy Sweeper\WRSSHP.EXE

I dont know what happened to catch such nasty things...but I hope you can help me get rid of these issues.

Here is my HijackThis:

Hi Groffles

Does AVG find those?

At least latter is false positive.

Hello,

Yes both of these that were found were by my AVG anti-virus.

If the latter is a false positive what should I do from there? Both of the aforementioned items are locked in my AVG virus vault.

You can try to restore it from vault and see if that has fixed in definition updates.

So, I have come to the conclusion that the latter of the two, the trojan, doesnt appear to be a false positive.

Just recently, it seems to have been found in a separate infected file...

At memory location:
C:\System Volume Information\_restore{106CF321-99A3-4E3A-9103-1BD027606A99}\RP20\A0013580.EXE

Infection:
Trojan Horse BackDoor.Delf.BVF

My AVG found this to be in a separate file. I dont know how it has spread since I haven't released it from the virus vault of AVG.

Well that is false positive as this file belongs to SpySweeper, link:

C:\Program Files\Webroot\Spy Sweeper\WRSSHP.EXE

That finding is in system restore.

When I tried to restore the Spysweeper file, AVG said that access was denied and asked "Do you want to select an alternate folder for recovery?"

Also, what should I do with the other infections? Should I delete them?

This is adware, others are fine:

C:\Program Files\Onlines Services\PeoplePC\ISP5900\Branding\ppal3ppc.exe

You can contact Grisoft for that issues. Another option is uninstalling AVG and replacing it with another antivirus.

Due to lack of response this topic is now closed.

If you still require help, please open a new thread in the Infected? Virus, malware, adware, ransomware, oh my! forum, include a fresh FRST log, and wait for a new helper.
