mnhall1,
While we work, please don't remove or install anything not requested.
Also please don't use Goback, or alter any Windows settings.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Remove Programs Using Control Panel(XP)
From Start, Settings, Control Panel or Start, Control Panel, click Add/Remove Programs.
Highlight each Entry, as follows, one by one, if it exists, and choose Remove :

AVG 8
Adobe Reader 8
Weatherbug
AWS

When you are done with it for the season, and have your backups, remove these two also, in this order:
Taxwise 2008
Taxwise 2008 Workstation.

It's also a good idea to delete the C:\UTS08\ folder after the Taxwise Uninstalls.
-----------------------------------------------------------
REBOOT Your Machine
-----------------------------------------------------------
Download ATF Cleaner by Atribune © from here : http://www.atribune.org/ccount/click.php?id=1
It is a stand-alone program that does not need to be "installed". Save it to a convenient location and make a shortcut on your desktop.
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe or your shortcut to run the program.
Under Main, choose Select All
Click Empty Selected

If you use Firefox,
Click Firefox in the top bar, and choose Select All
Click on Empty Selected
NOTE: If you would like to keep any saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.

If you use Opera,
Click Opera in the top bar, and choose Select All
Click on Empty Selected
NOTE: If you would like to keep any saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.

When it tells you how much has been removed, click Exit from the Main window.
-----------------------------------------------
Run the RSIT Scanner
Please download the Scanner http://images.malwareremoval.com/random/RSIT.exe and save it to your desktop. The icon will be named RSIT.exe
Doubleclick the RSIT icon.
When the scan is complete, two text files will open
log.txt <- this one will be maximized
info.txt <- this one will be minimized
( Default location for both files is C:\rsit\ )
Copy/Paste the contents of both log.txt and info.txt into your next post please. Use two posts if you prefer.

Let me know how it goes.

Ok.
Just do the rest of the instructions that you are able, and let me know what works and what doesn't.
Sometimes Weatherbug is llisted just as "AWS". That's why I included it.

Due to a lack of response, this topic is now closed.

If you still require help, please open a new thread in the Infected? Virus, malware, adware, ransomware, oh my! forum, include a fresh FRST log, and wait for a new helper.
