Hi Peku,

i did all what you described.
Thanks i learned a great deal regarding safety during the complete process of virus removal.
One thing that did not work out was to uninstall ComboFix:

* Click START then RUN
* Now type Combofix /u in the runbox and click OK

When i did that Combofix just ran again but is still installed on my system.
Any advice?
Is it a security thread or can i just leave it installed?
Further Spybot also seems to deal with the Host issue. It is writing something into the host.txt file. Is it still necessary to run MVPS Hosts?

Thanks Chris

Hi Chris

lets uninstall ComboFix with OTCleanIt

Please download OTCleanIt and save it to desktop.
  • Double-click OTCleanIt.exe.
  • Click the CleanUp! button.
  • Select Yes when the "Begin cleanup Process?" prompt appears.
  • If you are prompted to Reboot during the cleanup, select Yes.
  • The tool will delete itself once it finishes, if not delete it by yourself.

Note: If you receive a warning from your firewall or other security programs regarding OTCleanIt attempting to contact the internet, please allow it to do so.

Further Spybot also seems to deal with the Host issue. It is writing something into the host.txt file. Is it still necessary to run MVPS Hosts?

is not necessary to use the MVPS Hosts if you use the Spybot hosts file
