I had been infected with Downadup trojan. I downloaded norton's removal tool and it said that it cleaned the virus. But TrojanRemover says there is still a problem.
And this is my TrojanRemover Log (the part where it wanted me to remove a reg entry):

Hello and Welcome to the forums!

My name is Carolyn and I'll be glad to help you with your computer problems. HijackThis logs can take some time to research, so please be patient with me. I know that you need your computer working as quickly as possible, and I will work hard to help see that it happens.

Please do not run any other tool untill instructed to do so!
Please reply to this thread, do not start another!
Please tell me about any problems that have occurred during the fix.
Please tell me of any other symptoms you may be having as these can help also.
Please try as much as possible not to run anything while executing a fix.


If you follow these instructions, everything should go smoothly.


Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and save it to a convenient location.
  1. Double click on mbam-setup.exe to install it.
  2. Before clicking the Finish button, make sure that these 2 boxes are checked (ticked):
      Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
      Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
  3. Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware will now check for updates. If your firewall prompts, please allow it. If you can't update it, select the Update tab. Under Update Mirror, select one of the websites and click on Check for Updates.
  4. Select the Scanner tab. Click on Perform full scan, then click on Scan.
  5. Leave the default options as it is and click on Start Scan.
  6. When done, you will be prompted. Click OK, then click on Show Results.
  7. Check (tick) all items except items in the C:\System Volume Information folder and click on Remove Selected.
  8. After it has removed the items, Notepad will open. Please post this log in your next reply. You can also find the log in the Logs tab. The bottom most log is the latest.

Next,
  • Download random's system information tool (RSIT) by random/random from here and save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on RSIT.exe to run RSIT.
  • Click Continue at the disclaimer screen.
  • Once it has finished, two logs will open. Please post the contents of both log.txt (<<will be maximized) and info.txt (<<will be minimized)

Please post the following:
  1. The Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware log
  2. The contents of log.txt
  3. The contents of info.txt

But the RSIT is being deleted by KAV 2009 as a virus (multi-packed)!!

That is a false positive - it is not uncommon for anti-malware programs to incorrectly flag the tools we use for malware identification and removal. Rest assured, any links I give you will be safe.

Please disable the KAV 2009 real-time protection so that you can scan with RSIT as requested.


KASPERSKY ANTIVIRUS
Please navigate to the system tray on the bottom right hand corner and look for a Image sign.
  • right click it-> select Pause Protection.
  • click on -> By User Request
  • a popup will claim that protection is now disabled and a sign like this: Image will now be shown.
You successfully disabled the Kaspersky Antivirus Guard.
