This is the log that was generated after I ran HijackThis on my limited guest account. It had a popup saying it couldn't access the hosts file when it ran.

I work at a hostel and we have 2 guest computers, so unfortunately I can't always see what people are doing on them. Guests can only access the computers on a limited account (named Backpacker) and this is where the problem appears to be occurring. As far as I can tell, it's the same infection on both of them.

Both computers don't report any problems when logged in as an Administrator.

As you can see in the log, there are a few processes named <3 digit number>.exe, these are constantly being generated in the Temp directory. AVG Free constantly pops up saying it has discovered a trojan and usually says the filename is dsvhost.exe as well as the random digit ones.

I've tried running SpyBot and SUPERAntiSpyware and full system AV scans but so far have gotten nowhere.

I'm tempted just to delete the account itself and create a new one, but I thought perhaps first it would be best to ask for help first.

I should also add that they are both (now, but one wasn't at first) displaying junk for MS Anti Spyware 2009... In fact, one of them is now going completely mental.

We have noticed that most people seeking help from us are coming with infections contracted from the use of P2P programs .

I'd like you to read the MRU policy for P2P Programs.

Please go to Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and uninstall the programs listed above (in red).

Please run a new HJT scan when finished and post the log back here.

It does fall under the category of a business machine. You should find a reputable shop to help you with this issue.

In General, we do not help in cleaning business or corporate computers. There may be restrictions and modifications installed on such machines that could be damaged or altered by the actions we take to remove Malware. There may also be legal issues regarding any loss of business data that we do not wish to deal with.

Had nothing to do with uTorrent as far as I could tell, as it was on a computer that didn't have uTorrent installed on it.

It was lurking in the IE5 temp files...

I just deleted the entire user account and created new ones. All good.

Also, I don't know if you can count a hostel in Estonia as much of a business, but alright.
