Run HJT and click on Open the Misc Tools section.
  • Click Open Uninstall Manager...
  • Click Save list... and save it to your Desktop.
  • Copy and paste the file uninstall_list.txt into your next reply.

Unread postby Noviciate » December 12th, 2008, 4:07 pm

The main problem with your PC is that it has no security programs installed, neither a firewall nor an anti-virus, and this has led to the quantity of slime that you know have squatting on your hard drive.
Unfortunately given the difficulty in dealing with the effects of infection on a computer without an anti-virus program, the best advice I can give you is to back up any important files and then reformat and reinstall.
I can provide you with links to free security programs, if you wish, but these won't solve your present problem, only help prevent it in future.

I have had this computer for five years now and have never had any issues until recently even without a security program. Could you at least make a guess as to which processes seem suspicious? I was particularly curious about:

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {5adb35bd-1005-4941-9592-5683cdb72b65} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\mejiyuwo.dll
O2 - BHO: HelloWorldBHO - {D88E1558-7C2D-407A-953A-C044F5607CEA} - C:\Program Files\Mjcore\Mjcore.dll
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [vuhetepaku] Rundll32.exe "C:\WINDOWS\system32\vumehijo.dll",s
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [581a42ca] rundll32.exe "C:\WINDOWS\system32\wawupobe.dll",b
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [CPM5b297156] Rundll32.exe "c:\windows\system32\sefewana.dll",a
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [gadcom] "C:\Documents and Settings\Brian\Application Data\gadcom\gadcom.exe" 61A847B5BBF72815308B2B27128065E9C084320161C4661227A755E9C2933154389A
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Twain] C:\Documents and Settings\Brian\Application Data\Twain\Twain.exe
O4 - HKUS\S-1-5-19\..\Run: [vuhetepaku] Rundll32.exe "C:\WINDOWS\system32\vumehijo.dll",s (User 'LOCAL SERVICE')
O4 - HKUS\S-1-5-20\..\Run: [vuhetepaku] Rundll32.exe "C:\WINDOWS\system32\vumehijo.dll",s (User 'NETWORK SERVICE')
O20 - AppInit_DLLs: C:\WINDOWS\system32\hulujige.dll c:\windows\system32\sefewana.dll c:\windows\system32\pavojeha.dll
O21 - SSODL: SSODL - {EC43E3FD-5C60-46a6-97D7-E0B85DBDD6C4} - c:\windows\system32\pavojeha.dll
O22 - SharedTaskScheduler: STS - {EC43E3FD-5C60-46a6-97D7-E0B85DBDD6C4} - c:\windows\system32\pavojeha.dll

also I don't use roxio or was aware it was still on my computer, do you think it could be ok for me to remove those?

Would it help if I specified the type of random pop-ups that now occur? they say things like windows antivirus 2009. Where do you see all this slime on my hard drive?

I'm afraid that the length of time that you have run the computer is immaterial - whether with, or without, effective security. Your machine has been infected by a number of malicious files and there is no way to tell what they may have done to your machine, it's settings and legitimate files. As a result the best option is to reformat and reinstall. That would be what I would do with the PC if it was mine and it is what I recommend that you do.
Given the amount of work that cleaning your machine could entail and also the very real possibility that it will be unstable at the end, it isn't worth either my time or yours trying to deal with the problem.

oh well. Could you help me go over what I need to do to back-up my data, reformat, and reinstall? Are there any websites that explain the steps? Also I would really appreciate the links for those free security programs. I sincerely appreciate your help thus far and any help on making the process of reformating and reinstalling windows on my computer would be amazing.

thanks again for all your help and patience this far.

Did the PC come with a Recovery disc? Does it have a Recovery partition? If you are unsure of either, post the make and model of the PC and i'll look into it.

Due to lack of response, this topic is now closed.

If you still require help, please open a new thread in the Infected? Virus, malware, adware, ransomware, oh my! forum, include a fresh FRST log, and wait for a new helper.
