I have a thinkpad t23 hd 40 gb 2 partitions C: D: 1.2 ghz processor, 750 mbs ram. basically
I noticed that my hd starts using more space than it should. and no file manager (explorer, filecommander, etc.) can read where did that used space went. So I defragd the D: disk, when doing this I read: moving file A0000124.exe. Knowing that I didn't have any program installed I googled for this file, didn't found info on this, so I call the technician who fixes our computers. He told me to reformat the D: disk which I did. Before the formatting there was about 1.6 GB of used hd space that couldn't find out of any files there (I deleted all folders and files). After a few days again the same problem. So I formatted my hd d: again. both times the result was
used space 62.x mbs free space 17.x gbs. Now my C: hd has the following read:
used space 5.99 gb; free space 11.42 gb. however discspacereporter v 1.0 gives me the following read: 3.99 gb of used space. including pagefile.sys which is 808 mbs.
So where do the 2.0 gb of space went? What should I look for or what kind of program could help me find out if I have a maleware? please help.
