I hope somebody could help me with this sticky problem...My O.S. is W2K and my anti-virus programm is Norton 2005. The thing is that whenever i start my PC always pops up a very annoying and relatively big ad from the aforementioned software notifying me that the download.trojan virus has been automaticaly removed from the system. This happens every 15 minutes or so.-

Sorry about my english....desperately looking forward for someone who can give me a hand :( . I will appreciate it a lot.

Greetings from Argentina....

Hola Kamel!

Norton keeps finding it, but it is unable to exterminate it. You may need to try running Norton in Safe Mode to see if that helps.

Stinger from McAfee is a free tool that also can be used in Safe Mode:

On your W2K system install Microsoft Antispyware and all Windows updates. Run Microsoft ASW with the latest updates.

If that doesn't solve your popup submit a Hijackthis log here for examination:

All the best,

Glad to be of assistance! Keep your guard up with a few more tools...

Install SpywareBlaster...it is a great freeware protection tool:

Run a good temporary files cleaner...CCleaner or Cleanup4!

Viruses, spyware, and trojans LOVE to hide in temporary files folders.

Use a cleaner every day.

Cheers,
