Arrrrgh trojan detected, browser hijacked

My web browser will not connect to the Malware Removal web site and I am having to post this by borrowing another computer. My AVG antivirus detected a trojan a while back and we attempted to remove. We were then overcome with spyware, in particular something called WinSpyware pops up constantly.

We have made several attempts to remove this but nothing seems to work.

I have attached the HiJackThis log in the following.

Make an uninstall list using HijackThis
To access the Uninstall Manager you would do the following:

• Start HijackThis
• Click on the Config button
• Click on the Misc Tools button
• Click on the Open Uninstall Manager button.
• Click on the Save list... button and specify where you would like to save this file. When you press Save button a notepad will open with the contents of that file. Save the file to your desktop.

Download and Run SmitfraudFix

Please download SmitfraudFix (by S!Ri)
Run the file, it will extract Smitfraudfix to its own folder and run.

Select option #1 - Search by typing 1 and press "Enter"; a text file will appear, which lists infected files (if present).
Please copy/paste the content of that report into your next reply.

Note: process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool"; it is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.

Download and Run RogueRemover

Download RogueRemover by Rubber Ducky from here

• Double-click on rr-free-setup.exe to start the installation of RogueRemover
• Click Next then click I agree and finally click Install
• Untick Show Readme and click Finish
• This will now launch RogueRemover
• Close the help window
• Click Check for updates
• If there are any updates found click Download
• Wait for any updates to finish downloading/installing, then click Close in the update window
• Click on Scan
• If nothing is found, then close RogueRemover
• If RogueRemover did find something, it will present a list of detected items
• Click Remove selected
• Click YES at the prompt
• Click Ok when it informs you it's saved a logfile
• Wait for removal to complete & then close RogueRemover
• Use notepad to open this file

• (Note: ****** is the time when you ran RogueRemover)

I have not been able to follow your instructions because my computer has locked up since I made my first post to you. Over the weekend, it locked up and I powered it off. When I turned it back on, it came up with a selection of ways to boot. It was not the normal start menu. It gave me the options of start with safe mode or safe mode with networking or start normally. Nothing worked. It always cycles backs to the same place. If I do nothing, then it keeps cycling back to the same place with a countdown and then it begins again. What do I do?

Probably not. I finally did a system recovery last night. I could not get anything else to work. I am assuming that the recovery may have fixed the malware problem since it wiped everything off and reinstalled the original software. I will look at it more tonight. Thanks for all your help.
