Help with new Computer

Unread postby robcpfc79 » September 14th, 2008, 7:10 am

Hi

My new computer has been infected with viruses and I'm having problems to even get hijackthis to run because it will not unzip onto my computer. The problem I'm having is I'm getting loads of pop ups of fake virus scanners.

I'm on a different computer at the moment to avoid more damage, if anyone can help I would grately appreciate it.

Thank you

In order for us to help you it is necessary that you provide us with a HijackThis log. A HijackThis log, as well as other logs that may be requested, provide us with a guideline for removing whatever malware is infecting your system. We cannot proceed without such logs for guidance. If you are unable to create and post a HijackThis log, you may need to consider other options, such as reformatting your computer and reinstalling the operating system, or taking the computer to a trusted local shop.

Please follow the Guideline at the link below to start a new topic and post your HijackThis log. Use the link in the Guideline to download HijackThis as an executable file rather than a zip file. Sometimes, when you are experiencing difficulties in running HijackThis, it helps if you rename the file to something else, such as scanner.exe rather than HijackThis.exe. See if that helps.

This topic is now closed. Please start a new topic by following the HijackThis Guideline posted here: >Guideline for posting your HijackThis log<
