Invisible Internet Explorer Popup?

Unread postby Sharruken » September 7th, 2008, 5:52 pm

I've been getting an invisible internet explorer popup for about a week now, it wouldn't be a problem except that I can't play fullscreen games without it minimizing them, causing a little bit of frustration on my end when I couldn't find answer to the problem, here's my hijackthis log:

Hi Sharruken

To access the Uninstall Manager you would do the following:

1. Start HijackThis
2. Click on the Config button
3. Click on the Misc Tools button
4. Click on the Open Uninstall Manager button.

You will now be presented with a screen similar to the one below:

Image

5. Click on the Save list... button and specify where you would like to save this file. When you press Save button a notepad will open with the contents of that file. Simply copy and paste the contents of that notepad here on your next reply.

IMPORTANT I notice there are signs of one or more P2P (Peer to Peer) File Sharing Programs on your computer.

Ares 2.0.9

I'd like you to read the MRU policy for P2P Programs.

Please go to Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and uninstall the programs listed above (in red).

Please run a new HJT scan when finished and post the log back here along with a fresh uninstall list.

This can now be closed, I dunno how I did it, but I managed to stop the popups and have been free of them all night, meaning I have no solution to how I did it, or need any further assistance, thanks
