Opera browser?

Unread postby gitman7 » August 14th, 2008, 1:45 am

I do have IE 7 but have been using Firefox most of the time until recently when I read some reviews of Opera. I really like this browser best for regular internet browsing I was wondering about it's level of security. I have been scanning quite a bit lately with several programs and the system's clean except for some tracking cookies. It doesn't support ActiveX or VBsrcript at all so that is a plus I guess. There are very few sites I need ActiveX and then I'll just use IE. Anyone have any suggestions or cautions when using Opera?

I have read an article that people who use opera are the safest as about 75-80% of the infections that occur through the web browser are from IE. I forgot the percentage for firefox but Opera had an infection rate of 3%. Even though that is the case you are never safe online so if you want more security I recommend Sandboxie
