Hello,

So I accedentally began to download something posing as an active X controller for a video that really turned out to be some kind of weird spy ware site, now posing as an internet security center. When I open internet explorer, instead of my normal homepage it is some site at "http://dryhomepage.com/xp" and tries to make me think it's an anti-spyware site and to download software from them and I can't get rid of it! Also, another site pops up every once in a while called "antispycheck.com", and it essentially tries to do the same thing. Does anyone have any idea what I'm talking about or what this is? I've done a scan in McAfee and it's not detecting anything, but these programs seem really fishy (and probably "phishy" as well). To my knowledge, my computer isn't acting weird (yet) but I'd like to get rid of this stuff ASAP! I haven't downloaded anything else to get rid of it (such as hijack this that I keep seeing recommended here), mainly because I am paranoid now!! Anyway, PLEASE help me, any information as to what this even is would be great! Thank you!

Click here to download HJTInstall.exe

• Save HJTInstall.exe to your desktop.
• Doubleclick on the HJTInstall.exe icon on your desktop.
• By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis .
• Click on Install.
• It will create a HijackThis icon on the desktop.
• Once installed, it will launch Hijackthis.
• Click on the Do a system scan and save a logfile button. It will scan and the log should open in notepad.
• Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
• Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in your next reply.
• DO NOT use the AnalyseThis button, its findings are dangerous if misinterpreted.
• DO NOT have Hijackthis fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.
