Thanks for correction, will edit my canned :)

Right-click your favourite web browser and choose run as administrator.

Please go to Kaspersky website and perform an online antivirus scan.

  1. Read through the requirements and privacy statement and click on Accept button.
  2. It will start downloading and installing the scanner and virus definitions. You will be prompted to install an application from Kaspersky. Click Run.
  3. When the downloads have finished, click on Settings.
  4. Make sure these boxes are checked (ticked). If they are not, please tick them and click on the Save button:
Spyware, Adware, Dialers, and other potentially dangerous programs
      Archives
  5. Click on My Computer under Scan.
  6. Once the scan is complete, it will display the results. Click on View Scan Report.
  7. You will see a list of infected items there. Click on Save Report As....
  8. Save this report to a convenient place. Change the Files of type to Text file (.txt) before clicking on the Save button.
  9. Please post this log in your next reply along with a fresh HijackThis log.

That scan took FOREVER. It found over 30,000 infected items and to post the whole report here would be ridiculous. All of the items found to be bad were in the same place so I'm just posting the top bit of the list and the report summary.

That is fine :)

Empty this folder:

C:\_OTMoveIt\MovedFiles

Empty Recycle Bin.

Still problems?

Then you can attempt to delete it next in safe mode, please :)

If no go, it is not big deal as it will get deleted during final instructions anyway.

Re: A first Trojan... AVG is USELESS... here's my hijack report

Let me know if this works; it should as program is made by same developer:

Please download OTCleanIt and save it to desktop.
  • Double-click OTCleanIt.exe.
  • Click the CleanUp! button.
  • Select Yes when the "Begin cleanup Process?" prompt appears.
  • If you are prompted to Reboot during the cleanup, select Yes.
  • The tool will delete itself once it finishes, if not delete it by yourself.

Note: If you receive a warning from your firewall or other security programs regarding OTCleanIt attempting to contact the internet, please allow it to do so.

No, it doesn't work. Likely it doesn't work in 64 bit Vista.

Try this
next for that folder, please.

Tried that. No good. It's not that I don't have permission to delete it, the message says it cannot find the item, that it is no longer in C:\

No, it exists. I've deleted most of the contents and the contents of most sub-folders. Now when I open the main folder and the 4 sub-folders they ALL appear empty. Here's some screen shots. Keep in mind that I've selected "display hidden files".

OK, nice to hear that it is empty.

Have you tried deleting that folder via command prompt?

I can give instructions if you need :)
