Ok This is what I get when I run HJT, thx ahead of time.I tried another scan with seperate folders w/Avant. I notived in program there were files that said they could not be removed due to being password protected. Gave me an option to force and rename on re-boot but it did not.

Re: Swizzor.gen.b HELP!!!! Crash every time try to remove

Unread postby Shaba » July 11th, 2008, 11:46 am

Hi

Let's check this next:

Please Download NoLop to your desktop from one of the links below...
Link 1
Link 2
Link 3
  • First close any other programs you have running as this will require a reboot
  • Double click NoLop.exe to run it.
  • Now click the button labelled "Search and Destroy"
<<your computer will now be scanned for infected files>>
  • When scanning is finished you will be prompted to reboot only if infected, Click OK
  • Now click the "REBOOT" Button.
  • A Message should popup from NoLop. If not, double click the program again and it will finish Please Post the contents of C:\NoLop.log along with a fresh HijackThis log
--If you receive an error, "mscomctl.ocx or one of its dependencies are not correctly registered," please download mscomctl.ocx to your system32 folder then rerun the program. --

Re: Swizzor.gen.b HELP!!!! Crash every time try to remove

Unread postby cctek » July 11th, 2008, 2:07 pm

I ran nolop, no virus showed up in window. I dont understand why I cannot run a full virus check scan from any virus check. I think I mentioned when I ran avant before I ran it in certain sections. when I ran programs I noticed there were maybe 5 lines stating program ...quarintine password protected. also in the begining when I ran SDAT in dos I noticed the swizzer virus renamed. Then it kept goinginto a continious never ending loop. maybe I am doing what you ask me to wrong.
Here is Hijack below. Nothing from nolop :(

Hi

That one is clean.

Have you tried running a scan in safe mode?

what would you suggest using in safe mode?
I tried before using SDAT: scan.exe/adl/clean/all/sub/program/unzip/analyze/rptall/report report.txt
before in the beginning via the mcafee tech and thats where I noticed the swizzer virus, but it kept going and going in a loop.
What would you use and how ?
:(
I really do appreciate your help.

Hi

Then you might consider emptying McAfee quarantine and uninstall/re-install.

Tell me if it worked :)

A few things I did was uninstall SP3 as well as mcafee. Reinstalled Mcafee but when I try any type of virus scan my system still cannot complete the scan. It will crash half way through.
I am at a loss. I will monitor the system a bit longer and see if I have any other scanners left over in the reg.
mcafee says now everything is ok.
perhaps what you have had me do has taken care of problem.
If so then thank you very much. If not then I will be posting again. :)
