Welcome to the MWR forums. My name is Bio-Hazard. I would be glad to take a look at your log and help you with solving any malware problems. HijackThis logs can take a while to research. Please be patient and I'd be grateful if you would note the following:

  • I will be working on your Malware issues this may or may not solve other issues you have with your machine.
  • The fixes are specific to your problem and should only be used for this issue on this machine.
  • Please continue to review my answers until I tell you your machine appears to be clear. Absence of symptoms does not mean that everything is clear.
  • If you don't know or understand something please don't hesitate to say or ask
  • It is important that you reply to this thread. Do not start a new topic.

Note: I am still in training here at Malware Removal, however I will be working under the direct supervision of one of our Malware Experts. Any recommendations will first be approved before being given to you. Because of this, there may be a short delay in getting our responses to you, however be assured that we will be working diligently on your problem.

Uninstall list

Make an uninstall list using HijackThis. To access the Uninstall Manager you would do the following:

  • Start HijackThis
  • Click on the Config button
  • Click on the Misc Tools button
  • Click on the Open Uninstall Manager button.
  • Click on the Save list... button and specify where you would like to save this file. When you press Save button a notepad will open with the contents of that file. Simply copy and paste the contents of that notepad here on your next reply.

Rename HijackThis

You need to rename HiJackThis to enable it to find malware programmed to detect and hide from it.

  • Right click Start - Click Explore
  • Navigate to: C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis\HijackThis.exe
  • Right click on HiJackThis.exe - click Rename
  • Type into the name box: goodscanner.exe
  • Press Enter

I'd like you to check (a file/some files) for Viruses.
C:\WINDOWS\Resources\MicroSrvc.dll

  • Copy/Paste file into the white Upload a file box.
  • Click Send/Submit, and the file will upload to VirusTotal/Jotti, where it will be scanned by several anti-virus programmes.
  • After a while, a window will open, with details of what the scans found.
  • Copy and Paste results in your next reply.

VUNDOFIX

  • Please download VundoFix by Atribune from Atribune and save it to your desktop.
  • Double click VundoFix.exe to run it.
  • Click the Scan for Vundo button.
  • Once it's done scanning, click the Fix Vundo button.
  • You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
  • Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
  • When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
  • Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HijackThis log.

Note: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove. In this case, VundoFix will run on reboot, simply follow the above instructions starting from Click the Scan for Vundo button. when VundoFix appears at reboot.

SmitfraudFix

Please download SmitfraudFix (by S!Ri)
  • Extract the content (a folder named SmitfraudFix) to your Desktop.
  • Open the SmitfraudFix folder
  • Double-click smitfraudfix.cmd Select option #1 - Search by typing 1 and press Enter ; a text file will appear which lists infected files (if present).
  • Please copy/paste the content of that report into your next reply

NOTE: process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir Dr.Web Kaspersky) as a RiskTool; it is not a virus but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between good and malicious use of such programs therefore they may alert the user. http://www.beyondlogic.org/consulting/proc...processutil.htm

Do not run any other options from SmitfraudFix until I tell you to do so!

Logs/Information to Post in Reply

Please post the following logs/Information in your reply
  • Vundofix Log
  • SmitfraudFix report
  • A fresh HijackThis Log ( after all the above has been done)
