Heey :)

I have a problem with my computer. A couple of days ago someone said that i sended a virus to him. Later i heard from more people that i sending them spam/virussen @ msn. I thought my computer is the same as always. I didn't regonise something. I didn't send the spam, it was sended automatic. I also didn't see that i was sending a virus/spam. I knew it later because people told me. So i thought i had a msn virus/worm.

I scanned later with nod32. This program didn't find anything. Later i downloaded Ad-aware. It showed me that i had malwhere (trojan). I chose the button remove to clean it. Later i downloaded malwhere-cleaner. This program showed 2 infected files. It cleaned/removed the files.

I don't know if my computer is clean now. Well here is my Hijackthis log:

ps: sorry for my bad english. I hope you understand it. :)

Welcome to the MWR forums. My name is Bio-Hazard. I would be glad to take a look at your log and help you with solving any malware problems. HijackThis logs can take a while to research. Please be patient and I'd be grateful if you would note the following:

  • I will be working on your Malware issues this may or may not solve other issues you have with your machine.
  • The fixes are specific to your problem and should only be used for this issue on this machine.
  • Please continue to review my answers until I tell you your machine appears to be clear. Absence of symptoms does not mean that everything is clear.
  • If you don't know or understand something please don't hesitate to say or ask!! It's better to be sure and safe than sorry.
  • It is important that you reply to this thread. Do not start a new topic.

Note: I am still in training here at Malware Removal, however I will be working under the direct supervision of one of our Malware Experts. Any recommendations will first be approved before being given to you. Because of this, there may be a short delay in getting our responses to you, however be assured that we will be working diligently on your problem.

P2P Warning!

BearShare

Please note that as long as you are using any form of Peer-to-Peer networking and downloading files from non-documented sources you can expect infestations of malware to occur. Once upon a time P2P file sharing was fairly safe. That is no longer true. You may continue to use P2P sharing at your own risk; however please keep in mind that this practice may be the source of your current malware infestation Additional information on the safety of Peer to Peer programs themselves is here: Clean/Infected P2P Programs Please decide if you want to keep using P2P. If you dont want to keep P2P then this is how you can uninstall it/them:

  • Click Start
  • Go to Control Panel
  • Go to Add/Remove Programs
  • Find and click Remove for the following (if present):

    BearShare

NOTE: Take care when answering any questions posed by an uninstaller. Some questions may be worded to deceive you into keeping the program.

If you wish to keep them, please do not use them until your computer is cleaned.

I'd like you to check (a file/some files) for Viruses.
C:\WINDOWS\VistaDrive\VistaDrive.exe

  • Copy/Paste file into the white Upload a file box.
  • Click Send/Submit, and the file will upload to VirusTotal/Jotti, where it will be scanned by several anti-virus programmes.
  • After a while, a window will open, with details of what the scans found.
  • Copy and Paste results in your next reply.

Remove HijackThis entries

  • Run HijackThis
  • Click on the Scan button
  • Put a check beside all of the items listed below (if present):

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {7E853D72-626A-48EC-A868-BA8D5E23E045} - (no file)

I have a question about Bearshare: Limewire is almost the same as bearshare. Is this program clean or also as Bearshare? Maybe i can use Limewire better, if it's not bad for the computer.

NOD32 FiX is cracked copy of NOD32 we CAN NOT continue cleaning your computer unless you remove it. Please let me know what is your decision

Please read this. This is a quote from it:

Any time the helper detects that you may have illegal software on your machine, that helper may stop assisting you immediately until you can demonstrate that you have rectified the situation. We will not support fixing machines with pirated or otherwise illegal software.

This is how you can do it:
  • Click Start
  • Go to Control Panel
  • Go to Add/Remove Programs
  • Find and click Remove for the following (if present):

    NOD32 FiX

NOTE: Take care when answering any questions posed by an uninstaller. Some questions may be worded to deceive you into keeping the program.

Is there a free program like nod 32 that i can download and what isn't illegal? I don't have the money at the moment to buy one. If there is, i download that one and remove nod32.

There are good free ones so there are no need for using crack copies. You need to remove NO32 and NOD32 FiX before you can install one of the free antivirus programs.

Here are free anti-virus software from excellent vendors:

1) Avira AntiVir Personal- Free anti-virus software for Windows. Detects and removes more than 50000 viruses. Free support.
2) avast! 4 Home Edition - Anti-virus program for Windows. The home edition is freeware for noncommercial users.
3) AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition - Free edition of the AVG anti-virus program for Windows.

It is strongly recommended that you run only one antivirus program at a time. Having more than one antivirus program active in memory uses additional resources and can result in program conflicts and false virus alerts. If you choose to install more than one antivirus program on your computer then only one of them should be active in memory at a time.

I have a question about Bearshare: Limewire is almost the same as bearshare. Is this program clean or also as Bearshare? Maybe i can use Limewire better, if it's not bad for the computer.

Did you read this?

Please note that as long as you are using any form of Peer-to-Peer networking and downloading files from non-documented sources you can expect infestations of malware to occur. Once upon a time P2P file sharing was fairly safe. That is no longer true. You may continue to use P2P sharing at your own risk; however please keep in mind that this practice may be the source of your current malware infestation Additional information on the safety of Peer to Peer programs themselves is here: Clean/Infected P2P Programs.

It pretty much answers your question. You also have uTorrent installed. My recommedation is to uninstall them, but decision is yours.

If you wish to keep them, please do not use them until your computer is cleaned.

Do you know anything about this program: Just Cause 1.00.0000?

Virustotal results are not in full. Could you please submit the file again.

Remove programs

  • Click Start
  • Go to Control Panel
  • Go to Add/Remove Programs
  • Find and click Remove for the following (if present):

    MalWhere

NOTE: Take care when answering any questions posed by an uninstaller. Some questions may be worded to deceive you into keeping the program.

Update Java Runtime:

You are using an old version of Java. Sun's Java is sometimes updated in order to eliminate the exploitation of vulnerabilities in an existing version. For this reason it's extremely important that you keep the program up to date and also remove the older more vulnerable versions from your system. The most current version of Sun Java is: Java Runtime Environment Version 6 Update 6.
  • Go to HERE
  • Click on the link named Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Update 6
  • Click on the radio button to Accept License Agreement
  • Click on Windows Offline Installation Multi-language and save the downloaded file to your hard disk
  • Go to Start => Control Panel => Add or Remove Programs
  • Uninstall all old versions of Java (Java 2 Runtime Environment JRE or JSE)
  • Reboot your computer
  • Delete the folder C:\Program Files\Java if present
  • Install the new version by running the newly-downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions.
  • Reboot your computer

I don't think i send virus/ worms to people at msn anymore. The computer work most of the time fine. But something when i play a game, i have to reset the computer. But that's not often. And sometimes when i reboot the computer it gives: Windows is restored from a bad mistake.

Heey :)

C:\WINDOWS\VistaDrive\VistaDrive.exe

i've got windows xp with vista look. Problably is that the vista look skin. I'm not sure, because my brother installed windows.

I've got a question. Everytime i post here, i have to scan my computer with various programs. For what is this? I mean did you find anything yet that is damaged or something. Or is this just searching? And do i still have a virus or something?

The computer works fine now. I didn't have a problem. And i'm not sending stuff (virus/spam) to others anymore.

I'll post the scans later, because i don't have time for that now. But can you answer my questions? So i know if theres still a virus. ;)

I havent found much yet. We are still in process of analyzing every corner of your computer so we can safely say that you are clean. The only way for me to analyze your computer is to use these programs, because i dont have physical access to your computer.

I'm so sorry that i didn't answer back earlier. I was really busy and i forgot this. So here are the logs you were asking for. With DSS i'v got a problem. It said:

In dss.exe is een fout opgetreden en moet worden afgesloten. Onze excuses voor dit ongemak.

It means in dss.exe is a mistake and has to be closed. Were sorry for this.

So i couldn't use this program.

Here is the Kaspersky log:

It didn't find anything.

Hello spoeky!

We need to run another tools because DSS didnt run.

OTScanIt

Download OTScanIt to your Desktop and double-click on it to extract the files. It will create a folder named OTScanIt on your desktop.
  • Open the OTScanIt folder and double-click on OTScanIt to start the program.
    • In the Files Created Within group click 30 days
    • In the Files Modified Within group select 30 days
    • In the File String Search group select Non-Microsoft
  • Now click the Run Scan button on the toolbar.
  • When the scan is complete Notepad will open with the report file loaded in it.
  • Click the Format menu and make sure that Wordwrap is not checked. If it is then click on it to uncheck it.
Please post the resulting log here.

I only got the notepath after this line of you: When the scan is complete Notepad will open with the report file loaded in it.

I didn't understand what you ment with this: Click the Format menu and make sure that Wordwrap is not checked. If it is then click on it to uncheck it.
Please post the resulting log here.

I'm sorry. :( But here's the notepath after the scan:
