Unread postby tanadin » June 13th, 2008, 10:52 pm

Hi there,

I was just told by my friend that my computer might be infected by a trojan horse. I was working with my excel file and suddenly my avast anti-virus told me I got an infection by MX97:CVE-2008-0081 and now my working files is being quarantined in the virus chest. How do I restore it ?

Below is my hijakthis log

Hi tanadin,

let me know if you are still around, so we can start the fix. In the meantime, - Download and run CrapCleaner from http://www.ccleaner.com/
Note: in CCleaner: go to <options/advanced> Uncheck "Only delete files in Windows Temp folders older than 48 hours").

- Download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware from http://www.majorgeeks.com/Malwarebyte's ... d5756.html to the desktop.

- Double-click on Download_mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
- When the installation begins, follow the prompts and do not make any changes to default settings.
- When installation has finished, make sure you leave both these checked:
- Update Malwarebytes Anti-Malware
- Launch Malwarebytes Anti-Malware
- Then click Finish.

- MBAM will automatically start and you will be asked to update the program before performing a scan. If an update is found, the program will automatically update itself. Press the OK button to close that box and continue.
- On the Scanner tab:
- Make sure the "Perform Quick Scan" option is selected.
- Then click on the Scan button.
- The next screen will ask you to select the drives to scan. Leave all the drives selected and click on the Start Scan button.

- The scan will begin and "Scan in progress" will show at the top. It may take some time to complete so please be patient.

When the scan is finished, a message box will say "The scan completed successfully. Click 'Show Results' to display all objects found".
- Click OK to close the message box and continue with the removal process.
- Back at the main Scanner screen, click on the Show Results button to see a list of any malware that was found.
- Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
- When removal is completed, a log report will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to restart your computer. (see Note below)

The log is automatically saved and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.

Copy and paste the contents of that report in your next reply along with a fresh HijackThis log and exit MBAM.

NB - If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts. Click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process and, if asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.

Post back the NBAM report along with a fresh HJT log.

Re: Trojan Horse Possible

Unread postby ndmmxiaomayi » June 23rd, 2008, 2:00 am

Hi,

Ironbender has some issues at hand and I will be taking him over temporarily.

Show contents of AngAntiVirus.vbs

Please click on Start > Run.

Copy and paste in notepad C:\WINDOWS\system32\AngAntiVirus.vbs and press Enter.

Notepad will open. Please post back the contents of this Notepad file in your next reply.

Thanks.

Run DSS

  1. Please download Deckard's System Scanner from Tech Support Forum and save it to your desktop. Note: You must be logged onto an account with administrator privileges.
  2. Save all your work and close all opened programs.
  3. Double click on dss.exe to run it. Follow the prompts.
  4. When the scan is complete, two log files will be produced. The first one, main.txt, will be maximized, the second one, extra.txt, will be minimized.
  5. Please post the contents of the 2 log files in your next reply. 1 log per reply please.

I will need some information which relates to the above 2 O17 lines.

Do you live or work in Indonesia?

Do you recognize these companies?

1. Indosat Internet Service Provider
2. PT TELEKOMUNIKASI INDONESIA
3. PT TELKOM DIVISI MULTIMEDIA

In your next reply, please post:

  1. The 2 DSS reports
  2. Contents of AngAntiVirus.vbs
  3. If you live or work in Indonesia and recognize the 3 companies

Due to lack of response, this topic is now closed.

If you still require help, please open a new thread in the Infected? Virus, malware, adware, ransomware, oh my! forum, include a fresh FRST log, and wait for a new helper.
